ive just been on a fishing holiday in sveio.......nothing but a ton of makerel and one pollock. dont know what im doing wrong(im from england)

Probably fishing at the wrong place... Can't expect to get the same sized fish in southern Norway as you get in Lofoten etc.

@Yak82 hi there what you probaly did wrong was to fish with fethers,

you better can use pilkers and shads up to 300 gram.

and if there are lot of makrel don't use side catchers only big metal,

you probably can fish with natural bait at great dephts up to 200-300 meter.

i am sure you catch much bigger fish! offcourse you must rent a boat there,
