I think they gave Mazinkaiser two swords just to recall the duel between Great Mazinger and the Ankoku Daishogun in the old series. In that episode the Great was heavily damaged by the Ankoku Daishogun, it was much more dramatic than this scene, a pale imitation
@shinalk Yes i was rather disapointed with this movie so much build up and so much lacking in the end i thought the ending in the mazinkaiser ova was a million times better. I did like how mazinkaiser lifts the entire ship off the ground and then throws it and the laser eye roar at the end !

So it all comes down to a Kaiser Nova vs Genesic Hell and Heaven vs Shin Shine Spark vs Super Inazuma Kick. Which equals one huge boom, thus crippling the combatants, if not outright destroying the battlefield.
Well throw in Shin Dragon as a tag team partner for Shin Getter, and see the Final Getter Tomahawk tear through the mechs. Now that would be so damn sweet.

It can't really be called a hard time. Ankoku Daishougun had the upper hand for the best part of 90 seconds before Kaiser decimated him. And that includes Kouji getting encouragement from everyone. Also Kaiser Nova? Wouldn't that not only destroy Ankoku Daishogun as well as Boss, Micha and Nuke who are well in range of the explosion? This is the best way to pay homage to the original fight in Great Mazinger, while also showing off Kaisers power at the climax.
Speaking of SRW, in SRW W, the Mazinkaiser there, which is based on the OVA version can use Kaiser Nova. Possible sign of things to come? All the other attacks are canon.
One thing that makes me laugh, is how in some series like this, the final battle looks so serious at the beginning, but then when the final blow comes around he uses some regular move like his turbo rocket punch instead of something special or extraordinary like the actually Kaiser Blade...man...that was ok, but it coulda been better.
yeah thats really boring why didn't he used the kaiser nova?he used it in the srw..and also the manga...but in the manga he was damaged from it...i guess thats why he didn't do it
In the original great mazinger series, there was a similar battle. Even the same moves and weapons are porteyed here. One classic homage to such a great series.
