It was more of a light hearted jibe than an attack, I quite like Coogan, he did do a rather embarrassing McVities advert whilst in character quite a few years back though, its on the right of your screen if you have a look.

No he wasn't just starting out, the McVities ads were in 97, long after 'knowing me knowing you' and his appearances in 'the day today'. He even used his own established comedy creation to advertise the biscuit. We all make mistakes though and I still think Alan Partridge is great and Coogan is a good man.
