Now on my own note I have alot of family serving in Iraq in the hot zones one almost got shot I know someone that died shot down in a helicopter and he never said it was a mistake my family said being there helping out was a blessing that they should be there so all you can sit back and say useless war dumb war but until you are serving it means nothing and if you did serve in Iraq helping those people out the feeling you get should make you feel pround not mad at America for going to war

You have misinterpreted the fact that when a civilian dies, it is because they have entered some sort of armed conflict. And under the articles of the Geneva Convention, anybody that fights back with a force of arms (even militia) are considered enemy combatants. The Iraqi people WANT us there.

I didn't join to fight in Iraq or Afghanistan, I joined to make life for my family safe and to keep them from invasion of North Korea or some other totalitarian regime bent on world domination. Have you forgotten the Americans who fought the Afrika Corps under Rommel in North Africa? Or the men in Patton's third army that fought the Waffen SS in the mountains of Italy? Or how about the Rangers who landed at Point Du Hoc and held against a counter-attack, and by the time they were relieved, every single one had been shot at least once?

@benji1861 More or less every battle your talking about had the support of dozens of nations (Britain, Canada other commonwealth countries to many to list) the American revolution succeeded due to the fact it take a long time to get reinforcements over the atlantic in wooden frigates and the British were fighting a war in Europe against the French, Dutch, Portugese, Flemish, German states, Spanish. The Yugoslav partisans had men women and children and no tanks or planes. Iraq was a fuck up.

These British soldiers were Regulars who already had experience in other military theatres. So a group of ragtag soldiers, defeated the most professional army in the entire world.

Perhaps you would think if he was to die it would mean nothing to you? He knows that Iraqi people want us there. He will readily fight this war. My dad also will say we were correct in the First Gulf War in which he was a Marine. My grand-father will say we did the right thing when he fought in Vietnam and received a Purple Heart, two Bronze Stars, and a Silver Star along with countless other medals.

His job was to fly as many planes as possible to safety, and he did so, along with being credited for taking two Japanese Zeros down. I'm retired military! None of us can say for sure what Britian reported or not. Our intell agreed with there's and our law makers agreed, including Clinton. I did my thing in the Gulf War. Although I'd rather we didn't get involved in that part of the world my President said go, so I did without question. Everyone in now is there on there own accord, they were not drafted, so quit bitchin.

And it isn't bashing your country to say what it does is wrong. Blind following is the fuel on which dictatorships run. By standing up and pointing out the flaws of our country, we can help make it better, and isn't that really what patriotism is?
