The console overheats cause the Power brick only converts enough electricity to run the console alone. When running an Intercooler on the xbox it steals the power from the system's vital cooling units.

The Lowest Priority Power user in the xbox is the CPU fan, so if voltage is being stolen by an intercooler The CPU Fan is going to run at a much lower speed than is needed.

Therefore, Overheating the Xbox 360 and causing Scorch on the Pass-through power connection plug.

The EX (this one) actually takes energy from the 360 and causes it to overheating and get the Red Ring Of Death! and if it doesn't overheat then the thing will melt inside and fuck up your power brick and then cause the RROD! So get the TS instead. it's quieter, faster, safer, reliable, and it has it's own power supply so it doesn't mooch off the 360.

All intercoolers are bad for the xbox360. They withdraw more power from the console then neccisery causing the proccessor to overheat = The red ring. If your going to buy one but one that clips onto the bottom of your console, Ones on the back block the normall fans causing it to push air backinto the 360 (Which is not good)

i had a problem with my 360 cause i was playing call of duty 4 then out of nowhere the screen goes black and i turn it off and on and its still black so i called microsoft and they sent me the box for it and i got the xbox back in only 18 days and to my surprise it was a new xbox 360 and so far it still works and its quiet as a whisper after like 3 minutes. hopefully it works for a long time.....

Fuck the EX dude, the new intercooler TS is the way to go. I picked one up today (11/16/08) and it's a much better product. It's self powered and has a 10 foot cord so finding a place to plug it in isn't an issue. Plus it has a temp. sensor that kicks on when it gets hot and turns off about 6 minutes after you shut your 360 down so it still gets rid of heat after your done playing. Only $30 bucks dude, totally worth it.

@DILDOlover; I hear what your saying but it does have to draw power from the 360. Now without getting to technical when you draw power from any source you create more heat as electricity being pulled through any wire creates heat. It's basic electric, I know cause I'm studying it in school right now. But in all fairness it's not enough to burn the 360 out but keep in mind that the 360 is designed with a certain wattage in mind. If for some reason you draw more you could be asking for trouble.

They do not cause RROD. At least not the EX version. I have had my Xbox 360 for about 14 months, and this product has been attached the whole time. I frequently leave my Xbox on for more than 12 hours at a time. There is no damage to my Xbox, and it still runs like day one. The cooler is noisy, but my Xbox is much cooler. This is very worth it in my opinion.
