@FreddiesGirlSkins Christine Taylor is her name...Sherwood Schwartz was taken aback at how much she resembled Maureen McCormick, he said and I quote "It's uncanny"
I kinda like Sears - Went to Florida - stayed away most of the time - I have heard the sears catalog is kinda oh well and their logo is also a bit cheap but then went in and went out with a pair of Timberland shoes that cost me about 100 bucks - these would have been over 200 where I live - other stuff there not bad.
I was too young to remember the Brady bunch properly - but this was a great spoof on it! The family were living in a time warp in the same house but in the mid nineties! great idea!lol
Actually, Wal-Mart did exist in the seventies. It just hadn't hit the global scale that it is today. These people could get away with this corny stuff during the seventies, but they might be removed from the store if they were to go on like this in modern civilizations store fronts. The Brady's were such an odd family. Now the Adam's Family? Now thats such a simple everyday household with everyday sorta problems.
You're on the right track-but it was Betty Thomas, who was also an actor for many years before directing, much like Penny Marshall. Betty Thomas was most known for "Hill Street Blues"
I Love this! I'm just like that, only 80's instead of 70's, people stare at me sometimes because I wear all 80's clothes and have big hair, I wish my family would rock along with me like the Brady's, hahaha
I remember when this Chris Dan Barnes (Greg) was the kid on the show, Day by Day dreaming that he was a lost Brady sibling. Six years later, he's playing the real thing.
Great movie and clip on YouTube. Love the song and the humor here. Loved the mean neigbor Michael McKeon played in the film too. This scene is so very funny. Thanks for the post.
I hope everyone gets the "Sears" reference (it's especially still funny for me apart from the movie). Sears use to be a relatively "cool" department store back in the 70s, but nowadays it's reputation isn't on the same level as Macy's, Carson's, etc., it doesn't have the designers that those do. I live in Mexico now, and of all the American department stores, Sears is the only I've seen to have a store here. Kinda funny to me, it definitely positions itself as fashionable here.
I love Sears. Macy's is a high end department store. Sears has never tried to be that. Sears was and is still larger then Macy's because it sells things that for what most Americans are, middle class. Sears Mexico is not actually owned by Sears any more.
Did anyone notice the guy who looks back like the Bradys are weird? He's the same man who played the director of the show they were on, on TV. Nice cameo.
OMG I cant believe I used to watch this movie a million times when I was younger. Its so corny and stupid to me now. No wonder why my brother always changed the channel, lmao.
They must REALLY LOVE sears. I saw this in the theater when it first came out,and I LOVED it. I couldn't wait 2 see it. The Very Brady Sequel is better than this though. They go 2 Hawaii and plus they have Tim Matheson in it,who I absolutely LOVE. I like both films, but the sequel is so much better.
Lol me and my best friend did this in sears after seeing this movie.we learned all the words and did the weird escalator thing. But we're not sure if we have this right, did the guy say Put on your sunday BISCUITS,we're going to sears?Cuz we think that makes no sense, but it could be some 70's language or something.
It took my older sister pointing it out for me to realize the guy who plays Greg was the voice of Prince Eric!!! The first acceptable animated crush for girls to have... <3
I can remember as a young child when going to SEARS actually was a great deal of fun. I also remember getting the SEARS Wishbook every year before Christmas and ogling all of the toys.

?? oh lol.. i just checked the video. :) it's jan. I wonder why i thought peter!!! i think she sounded like peter to me lol, idk. :) lol but either way i love this song. :)
It's actually a little bit slower than the one from TV, so I think the movie used a version they recorded on a record in the 70's. In any event, it's hard to tell a girl from a boy voice when they're that young, and Eve Plumb's voice has always been kind of deeper than you'd expect from a girl. And yeah, it's a pretty song. I like the songs the new kids sang in the Very Brady Sequel more though; Good Time Music, and Time To Change.
I would be like WTF too if i saw a family do that dance at Sears
