Aaaaaaaaah I love this "Ah qual colpo"! Rosina's despair is so heartbreaking... Hilarious how she plays with her wheelchair xD Indeed, la scala might be a problem ^^
Is she actually in a wheelchair, like, did she fracture her leg or something or is it just the staging? Florez is the Count Almaviva of this generation, no doubt about it
@thecelticspirit Haha. So true! I love the expression on Joyce's face the first time she says "per la scala del balcone." It totally says "you guys clearly haven't thought this through!"
And I also love Joyce's "ma io" for some reason.

The whole thing is amazing but I am particularly obsessed with 8:45 to the end... I die every time it is so hilarious.

I was there on the first night, when she just got hurt and used only a stick... oh that stick was a powerful tool to beat....

I cannot but simply love this! I was there the first night she performed in a wheelchair - and it was really amazing.
My question is: (a) where on earth did you get the filmed performance and (b) please give us more! ;)

I just posted this same scene from DiDonato's 2005 London performance... just to show how she did the scene differently without the wheelchair.

She tripped during the premiere, and she broke her leg. She decided to keep on singing, hence the wheelchair :)

Possibly the best, and funniest, part of the whole opera! With 2 of my favorite singers! Bravo, coloraturafan!
