I think it had more to do with the match being played at Construct, than teamwork. I've seen some pretty average teams give quality teams a run for their money whenever controlling the top of Construct.

I understand map control is a big part of slayer, but it probably shouldn't be as much as it is on Construct.

not necessarily. Don't count out CBN and Str8. Not to mention the fact that now that many new strategies are out people are going to find counter strategies (the game is still relatively new). Eventually, when almost all strategies are known, we'll have a set top 5, but for now things will be relatively mixed up.
