What Meryl has accomplished is truly amazing. She has endeared herself to a whole new generation, become one of the top-grossing actresses AT AGE 60, and really achieved the status of living film legend. Love her so much. She deserves every accolade.
i hope they make the sequel for Enchanted too!! more Gisele more Amy Adams , shes talented actress and amazing personality and good role model for children.. Amy could be the next generation of Meryl Streep :)
I like, very much, that despite her success and her overwhelming popularity, Meryl is still humble and kind and has the ability to respect and demand respect for an establishment that has lost more and more of its own self-respect in the past years. I think it's also good for Amy Adams to have had the chance to learn under such a fantastic actress and woman.
Meryl is so gorgeous, this woman never ages. She's the greatest actress of all time, there is nothing she can't do.Amy seems really sweet and she's a beautiful woman but I'm not that into her as an actress. She's good in some things like Doubt but she's not very consistent.I don't think she was very good in Julie & Julia.
people are constantly bringing this up in the interviews with meryl streep how remarcable it is for her to still be working when other women her age are unemployed and stuff, but i don´t find it remarkable at all that she´s so b popular as she is, she´s so brilliant and totally magical and amazing all other positive words i can come to think of, so for me it´s not at all weird that i´m rushing of to see her movies. she´s still working because we, the audience can´t get enough of her work. love
Doubt: something the hosts of the view could use more of.
I love how down to earth and sweet both Meryl and Amy are. It would shock me if either of them ever went to rehab like many other celebrities do (unless it is for research on a character :P).
amy brought the play to the rehearsals (not the script mind you). the script apparently cut a lot of meryl's character's lines (as compared to the play) and amy just brought it to meryl's attention. meryl then, good artist that she is, read the play and then scurried to the director to suggest some things from the play to be included.
"you know, you've been cut...(cutting) a lot of your lines I think..."
amy is a weird actress she so polite and old fashioned and she seems like she is hanging on by a thread trying not to have a nervous breakdown she almost sort of ticks good listener though.
3. "Is it a famous boyfriend.. Do you have a famous boyfriend.. or just a guy" - Joy can be so blunt sometimes..
4. 5:29 - Joy has no idea what the "O-word" is 5:39 - Joy asks for help 5.42 - Joy is told "O-word" = "Oscars" 5.44 - Joy gives a "Ha! I get the joke Whoppi!! I'm BACK in the game!"
I love Meryl Streep and believe that she is the best actress ever!!!
But Amy Adams was on the show, too, you know, and I don't really think it's fair for her that they hardly interviewed her. If they want to place their interests wholly on Meryl, why not invited only Meryl. That would make this interview less awkward.
I think she's adorable and I've only seen two of her movies. Doubt being one and Enchanted being the other. She was really good in them both but I don't think she on Meryl level just yet. Maybe in the way near future but not today. Best Actress Ever = Meryl Streep. I'm not trying to pick a fight but Meryl is in the class of Bette Davis and Kate Hepburn. Meryl is a living legend. This woman could read me the phonebook and it'll be oscar worthy. She'a a Goddess living among us.
If you want to watch any of Meryl's movies I would recomend Sophie's Choice. Her acting is superg like always but the script is so good and to top it up with an outstanding preformance by Meryl is fantastic. I highly recomend this movie.
I'm a huge fan of Meryls, but, I wouldnt recomend watching sophie's choice. I do100% agree that that she is excelent actress in this movie (or in any movie), but, that movie is wayyyyyyyy toooo sad for me to ever watch again in my entire life. i cried so much, i felt sick to my stomach aftarwards.
Yes I do have to agree that this movie is one of the saddest I have ever seen in my entire life. That scene when she is forced to pick between her kids is the saddest and she does that scene excellent!!!!Also the fact that she did the polish accent and also speaks German in the movie. This women can do anything and also the fact that she is so humble and loving person is wow!!!
alexahaller, of course the film is very, very sad, but i think everyone should see it at least once in a lifetime. her performance is absolutely incredible.
yes, but of certian age so the fully understand. my (not too bright) friend watched it with me and didnt understand why i was so upset. UH HELLO?! SHE JUST CHOSE BETWEEN HER 2 KIDS! god....idiot
haha -- oscar snob whoopi put her foot in her mouth, not realizing that amy adams has been a big deal since her nomination for June Bug. and then she's like "but as an actor."
as much as I like whoopi, I find she gets a bit much when talking to other actors from her perch as Oscar winner.
What a cultural black hole. Meryl tries to talk about something meaningful for once (the award campaigning, the over-celebration of Hollywood)...and Whoopi and Co. change the subject.
Also, if Meryl is so sick of it, why does she keep making the brain-dead publicity rounds? Surely, if there's one actress who can get away with not doing the publicity circuit ad nauseum, it's her.
does anyone else notice that meryl is wearing the same thing in her GMA interview... i love meryl for that.. im sure that no other celebrity would have the guts to wear the same thing to a different interview even if its on the same day!!! meryl is amazing.....
You so right! I love that shes so down earth, anti-diva. She can wear the same dress all the time, that with her smile and simplicity she always will be a godess ;)
you said it! nothing makes meryl, meryl makes the thing! LOL. before meryl put that dress on, sure it was nice, but it wasn't great. and when lines were written, they were great, but when meryl speaks them, they transform into something powerful. she is such a goddess! the ideal woman.
Catherine Deneuve does that many times, she has worn several of her dresses at different major occassions, even years apart. :) I love them both, they are class personified and still very simple, loveable, terribly smart women as you can tell from the interviews!
She praised Viola Davis here. :D . Meryl is so amazing.

Awkward moments:
1. Elisabeth talking about Enchanted (Nobody cares about at film from last year)
2. Amy Adams saying "hugeness" at 1:13
