  • All have a # 1 SUPER SIZED!

  • This is what it sounds like to me during a funeral...

    ಥ_ಥ

  • wow... can't say more than that

  • hmm. the subject; on the 4th note.. i bet he did not expect such.

  • done made me up one from possums coons and other critters dead on the road - hung me a anvil ina middle of em -didnt sound nuffin like this

  • There is a chime like this at a local nursery near Sea-Tac airport on HWY 99. That chime is even larger and has steel powder coated chimes that sound during breezes which blow up from the Puget Sound through the nursery. Does not take a lot of wind only a slight breeze, do not know what they do when it gets really windy, probably tie it down.

  • The tones and there vibrato and length can be decoded into a specific unversial language. The mastering and manipulation of this language is of great use to us.

  • @wayhighpatrol Whoa...Incredible! I never knew there were wind chimes out there even larger than Basso Profundo! Oh, how I would LOVE to get my hands on a set of these...

  • Thanks for sharing :)

  • These chimes are now installed in a 40' tetrahedron structure in Humboldt Park in Chico CA. The tetrahedron is made from 4' x 40' schedule 40 steel pipe. The chimes are 6.5" aluminum pipe between 6' and 9' long.

The project is called Resonance. The tetrahedron is also supported on its structural nodes which allow it to vibrate at a very low visible frequency.

  • @wayhighpatrol Is the alum pipe seamless? I can find seamless pipe Nowhere!

  • 1: Where are these?

    2: What are their sizes?

3: How much does this size steel cost?

4: Am I right in assuming their made of steel?

  • @watchthefaithrain they may be made of pure aluminum which a beautiful tone.

  • I disliked the video.

  • @e510275

And why did you do that? seriously...

  • these sound so beautiful & peaceful.

i have just finished my first set of wind chimes tuned to a pentatonic scale starting at a3.

now after hearing these, i think i may build a huge set an octave lower.

  • @ccwilloe

Very nice for a first set! I like the toe on the windsail action.

  • @GreggPayne - greg, ya well, there isn't too much wind in my garage - lol - they now hang frojm a jacaranda tree in our back yard. i changed the sail design to a circular aluminum shape like you did - what's it called, a gogo - looks a helluva lot better than the square oak plank. thanks for inspiring me.

what did you use to record the sound for this video? the sound on mine isn't very good as i took the video with a small canon point & shoot camera.

  • this is absolutely wonderful!! thank you!!

    wish it was longer!!

  • Brass is great, but it's a lot heavier.

  • So beautiful...love chimes...

  • Beautiful , nothing else to say

  • That's amazing! One of these days I'm going to get around to making myself some wind chimes (probably smaller)

  • You'd need a hurricane to get these to chime

  • They chime easily in a good breeze.

  • im jealous, mine weight close to nothing and barely chime at all in strong winds..go figure

  • Which chime is this one called and can it be ordered from a website?

  • Now THIS is IMPRESSIVE! SOMEONE PLEASE come forth with the creator of this thing. That sounded so deep.

  • I like how you ended on the G chime --- *KOOOOOOONNNNNNG* That's really pleasing Gregg.

  • Wow! love and peace and harmony

  • We havesimilar ones in our front deck, though thyy're not as big.Check out the wind chimes from my back yard. They're really pretty.

  • Thank you for sharing this!

I could listen to that all day & night. Would you be so kind as to share the schematics or blueprints to your design? My husband & I would like to build one just like it.

    Thank you again.

  • :) Smile

  • Thanks, Phillygale. There are no schematics or blueprints. All pipes have to be tuned individually. These use 6" aluminum pipe hung from a 3' diameter hoop. A large smooth stream bed stone wrapped with saddle leather hits the pipes. Gregg.

  • Do you sell these? If so what do you call this specific chime and how much does it cost? Do you have a website?

  • Nice!!!

  • beautiful! thanks for sharing this! 5***** for you

  • Awesome.

  • WOW!!!!!! where are these located?

  • Loved seeing this in the kutiman video!

  • Where do you live? Send me a photo if you can, I'd love to see some other ridiculously large ones. How do they sound?

  • I am going there in April. It's in Kansas. They sound incredible. I hope the wind is blowing strong when I'm there, because otherwise they don't do much at all. One time my friend jumped up to grab the string on the big one to bang it into the chimes but it just bounced off of them and made no sounds. It was pretty funny, actually.

  • There is a place near my friends house that has a series of large windchimes that hang really high that go from large to ridiculously large. It takes a lot of wind to get all of them going right, and I've only heard that one time I think. I love the sound of them, but I get this really scared sensation being around them when looking at the largest one from underneath it. I don't understand it?

  • i think there great

  • so much cooler when you are there and you can feel it go through your body

  • thats so beatiful the resonance of them is incredible

  • @creamywhip i can feel it resonate to my soul ...just through my speakers...wow

  • What diameter tube was used and was it steel or aluminum pipes?

I want to make a big one like that, I do have one I made on my channel.

  • snoop- listen to the video, man, he said they were alumimum. maple tree must be saggin for it- how many pounds is that puppy?

them is fireproof but whatup with the TREE?

  • How tall is that wind chime?

    William.

  • The whole deal is about sixteen feet tall. The pipes are between 9' and 6' long.

  • THOSE are amazing!!! Love it!!

  • I want them! Where can I find 'em?
