@brbn93 Cause the eclipse is more reliable than 3KGTVR4, my best friend has had one for 3 years now, and 3 motors already went out, and not because of the way he drive, he never hits redline. Plus the eclipse is original, and unique. I however do not care too much for the body kit.

@a2001mirage True dat, I got an Eclipse GT myself (manual FTW!) I was kinda going back and forth between turboing/supercharging it, but got kinda discourage by the fact that it's a FWD. The reason why the 3KGTVR4's engine went out is because it's a DSM car. Those cars have the worst durability rate, you have to work on them constantly just to keep up with their regular maintenance. The Eclipse have so much potential if ony if it was AWD and DOHC engine.

@brbn93 I have had 4 Mirage's and they have been nothing but reliable, as long as I don't dog on them, and make sure there aren't any big oil leaks, and timing belts, lol. Timing belts can be a bitch, as my first Mirage showed me. And on the 4G64, 4cyl I'm almost certain you can swap a EVO head onto that block. If I remember correctly, that's how the evo guys make strokers, but I could be wrong. lol

@7angofragger - You do realize the 3rd gen Eclipse is the worst of the series ? Slow, heavy and fortunately for you, the ugliness doesnt affect your speed. Also, sounds pretty weak in the cab. My 2008 is pretty loud inside the cab, stock.

if you can weld and have a lot of patience and basic mechanical skills(put in pistons yourself/build an exhaust mani) then its not too expensive/ difficult....its just not as easy as slapping a boost controller and a FMIC like a 2g...but that being said the v6 turbo will stomp a 2g for the most part (obviously there are exceptions) but i am building my own kit and ive spent about $300 and have about another $1000 to go (pistons are expensive)lol i have bought all used though. i love the my 3g
