Wow, this is excellent!!! I've actually got the record, but unfortunately, I didn't like it the first time round & only played what I reckon to be the A side, "Walk On Boy"
Saw this poor man booed of the stage, I think it was the Fairfield Halls Croydon around 1966. Jerry Lee Lewis with Gene Vincent Oh dear he stood no chance
Pretty good, but I think he had to develop as a songwriter before he had the quality of (say) Shane Fenton or BIlly Fury. The sax player is great. Was this from a George Martin produced session?
I doubt at that time he was hiding anything but a dream for fame and a longing to be appreciated - if you check out 'Paul' posing backstage at an Everly Brothers concert in 1958 on Getty Images - this would have put him around his mid teens - you won't see a person that would have abused. More like he was abused himself in my opinion. This does not excuse 'Glitter' however...
Yes not a bad job at all , but not a patch on Johnny Horton! Slightly unfortunate choice of title considering his later "history" ! I think I have his cover of "Tower of Strength" in a box somewhere, on Parlaphone if memory serves. Many thanks for posting these hidden gems.

Prefer this to Johnny Horton's version. There's more life to it. If Gadd had succeeded as 'Raven' though we would never of had 'Glitter'...

It's almost country! Always loved Johnny Horton's version of this, and my favourite of his - "North to Alaska".
