@nwojason I use Jackson USA custom Shop soloist mainly. I do have Rhoads and Warriors etc. I use EMG-X pickups 100pct of the time now. For passives just like any pickup it all depends on your hands. it sounds crazy but pickups react to your hands. There are some that sound great but not when I play them if that makes any sense

When i approached them with a press kit, i also invited kevin (former Jackson employee) to come see us live. When we met we got along so well based on what we were doing as well as my stupid love and knowledge of Jackson guitars. I always say... endorse ONLY what you really play.

I disagree about the quality going down. The new Jacksons are as good as they have ever been. I have 2 USA Jacksons and I actually think the 2006 I have is better quality than the 1997. I have a pre-fender Japanese Charvel that is really sweet also. None as good as the 2006

And I'll admit in the last few years they seam to have improved in quality, but PRICE is a joke. Last I checked the DKMG or whatever with EMGS was 900 bucks. Licensed floyd and bolt on neck and rosewood fingerboard. You could get a BC Rich with OFR, Neck-thru, and ebony fingerboard. They have no excuse for that.

You get what you pay for with Jackson though. I have bought Jacksons from the bottom of the line to the top o' line. Even the cheap JS series we got out daughter stays in tune forever. You also have the option to buy used guitars at a lower price.

When I finally got to the point I could afford a USA Jackson and bought one, then it became clear. Have you ever played a SL2H?

My main complaint is their middle range. Not much tops a USA jackson, you get the hardware and quality, I own the SL2H, and RR1, RR3, RR24, KE2, and SLSMG.

The middle range is overpriced, sure you get higher quality/better setup on one, but you can get a guitar for less with better specs and set it up yourself and walk away with a much superior guitar.

Jackson makes the best bolt ons, and the best lic. floyds, but they cannot compete with neck-thru and OFR, especially on cheaper guitars.

"Talking mid-range" guitars you CAN get a guitar cheaper. what if you are wanting to hot rod a guitar? you could take the mid range guitars put 18volt EMGs, sperzel tuners, a kill switch, wild paint and not break the bank. There is a place for this mid-range guitar like the dinky, and it sells like crazy.

l have a Japanese Charvel. Its an intermediate with the takeuchchi Tremolo and I will never sell it. It kicks ass.

I Like the Jacksons. I'll pay the extra price. You can find better deals than the prices you quoted if you look around. As far as better tone, wood, neck joint I'm not sure I agree with that. You may get a real floyd but Made in Korea or somewhere.

The made in Japan dK2 had genuine duncans, Alder bodies as well as quartersawn necks. I have found killer deals on these off of ebay, even with the maple neck. I think they are the best bang for the buck
