now this is what i consider COUNTRY MUSIC, vs the so called country mucis being put out nowdays where most the so called singers cant sing to save their lives and hide behind their electronic gizmos. If i understand right Johnny was a relative of Dan Seals and Grady Seals from Little Texas, talk about a talented family. RIP Johnny and Dan

When I think of the 70s, which I do often, I always think of Johnny Duncan. You can't hear his voice without feeling romantic. Most of my fondest, most memorable moments from that period of my life had his music for a background soundtrack. I thank you for uploading this, especially since I can't play my vinyl anymore.
I had just started working at a heat treating plant and the guy I was working with shoed horses and listened to country music. This is the song that got me hooked on country music. Country music now is nothing like it was back when this song came out. Any musician now from any gender of music can sing a song and label it country. Trying to appeal to the younger generation, some artists are abandoning the true country sound just to sell a CD.
i totally agree with you , songs are nothing like they used to be. you could tell the difference, now it all sounds alike and they call some country, there are a few songs that sound like the old country. but the rest shouldn't be in the same category as country. this guy rocks
When this song was popular, we had a station that would play it and follow it up with Third Rate Romance---- a rendezvous at the Family Inn-- They go together perfectly
Johnny Duncan is one hell of a country singer. Great song. Love to hear this ol'
country music. Janie Fricke is beautiful singing all that good stuff. Very beautiful music! It leaves you with a beautiful fragrance in the air. It goes on and on!!
Love to hear this ol' country stuff - Janie Fricke singing with Johnny - goood stuff - she has a great, great voice...distinctively beautiful...thanks for posting livingadream2
livingadream2---Thanks again, so much. Although I have hundreds of songs I like, I listen to your Johnny Duncan offerings almost daily. You have done a great service by providing these songs.
I never got to hear him in person. What a treat it would have been to see him performing with Janie. They were a wonderful duo, and his time with her helped boost her to stardom.
yep. 3 Janie Fricke solo songs I like above all others: Down to my last broken heart, it ain't easy bein' easy, and Don't worry bout me...but her stuff with Duncan, pure country Gold
I thought I missed something, I tried to find Footprints in the Snow by JD and couldn't. It is a great song and has been done by quite a few greats. I will have to post one shortly. Thanks for listening!
The man had a voice that could make you melt. My mother used to have a lot of his 8-track tapes and played them in her car all the time. I always enjoyed listening to him and love it even more now.
Johnny Duncan had so many great 70's country classics! I didn't know he had passed away until I was looking up his songs on here, too bad how so many of the greats are gone now...his timeless music will live forever!

Johnny sets a perfect mood...Janie joins him, and hits it out of the ballpark. Pure genius, and describes secret emotions real to so many of us.

Johnny Duncan is the cousin of Jim Seals of Seals & Croft and county star Dan Seals who was also one half of England Dan & John Ford Coley fame.
