Honestly, I don't think CNN really knows the difference, nor do most people for that matter. Besides, being run over by an APC is probably a remarkably similar situation. An most APCs do have some rather powerful guns on them, even if they aren't as powerful as tank cannons.

The showing of various construction vehicles is cute, but there's quite a bit of difference between an APC and a bulldozer.
