I have listened to this clip at least 50 times in the last week. bella figlia dell'amore is the ultimate chicken song. I just want to ravish someones wife after singing ths in her ear ( just like the Baron, baby!) schiavo son devezzi tuoi!
I usually refer to this quartet as a tenor solo with trio accompaniment. However, here Joan turns that on its head. She soars, and the other dare not fly near the sun.
@anableps67360 Who do you think you are? Do you think any of us truly care to hear the senseless dribble which forms in your tiny little brain. If you don't like a singer then don't watch the video, none of care to read such filth while enjoying such beautiful music.
My absolute favorite version of the famous quartet in Rigoletto with a distraught Joan Sutherland, a lecherous Luciano Pavarotti, a vengeful Leo Nucci and a voluptuous Isola Jones. This is a masterpiece of singing, staging, timing, and acting! Thank you for posting it!
Excellent piece of work!! Thank you very much for Sharing!!!!!
What a way of meeting people and get to see their talent. At first was reluctant being on youtube, but getting to do this has brought me into the houses of some very special people. You are one of them. Life; isn't it wonderful!!! Keep up the good work. Hope You Are Having A Splendid Day!!!!
It's just best ever in opera. Verdi, Pavarotti, Sutherland, Nucci, Isola Jones and this marvellous cuartet. I will not never tire of listening it. I had the oportunity of listening Nucci in Madrid Royal Opera Theatre and it was possibily the best rigoletto I'd never seen. unfortunately Pavarotti and Sutherland are not alive but we'll always have videos like this.
☆♡☆ Bravo!!! Superb!!! R.I.P.---Prima donna Sutherland...i hope you will enjoy singing with Pavarotti in heaven. Thank you so much for posting & sharing this marvelous clip.☆♡☆
Brilliant, this performance was absolutely brilliant and showed what geniuses Sutherland and Pavarotti truly were. May they create such magical performances in heaven now. R.I.P. Dame Sutherland.
@TheOpusofCharlie so beautiful, thank you!, 'la danza' is a napolitan song isnt?...is so beauty that too!, thanks, and for me one of the beauty arias for me is 'm'appari tutt amor' have you ever heard it?
A miracle of modern engineering that there was no costume failure, and indeed a great pity as well.. Beyond compare as the definitive performance. Bravo and Brava
Richard Bonynge must have conducted every performance of his wife Dame Joan. So he must have been in the orchestra pit in this performance. Her crystal voice attracts a huge number of audiences. I wonder when this performance took place.
This was a trio. I barely heard Nucci. The conductor needs to ease up a little on the volume but then with Sutherland and Pavarotti singing so loudly... Who is conducting anyway?
PARA LA OPERA NO HAY QUE SABER NADA ......................SOLO SABER OIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR...............EL QUE TENGA OIDOS QUE OIGA EL QUE NO QUE SE ATENGA A SU PROPIA CULTURA.......CADA CUAL TENDRA SUS LIMITES......LOS MIOS SON INFINITOS.............Y PARA INFINITUDDDDDD..ESTA..JOAN SUTHERLAND..............

you guys are a buch of catty b----- but you made me laugh....no one mentions that stupendous High D flat! and at more than 60 years old! What's the matter with you guys?!
Nucci è proprio come il prezzemolo : non si sa come ma riesce a intrufolarsi dappertutto. La Sutherland ( grandissima Gilda ai tempi d'oro ) qui ormai era totalmente andata. Molto bravo invece Pavarotti. Notevola I. Jones come Maddalena.
I was waiting for something to come poppin out of that dress. Also it looked as if Ms. Southerland's jaw came unhindged. BUT....... I can't carry a tune in a bucket so I'm happy you uploaded the clip. Thanks.
@SueAnnNivens what do you mean don't pay attention to her "personality"? Do you mean her breasts? Revel in her breasts, there's nothing shameful in them, plus they fit her character perfectly: the sultry female distraction/accomplice to her hit man brother.
Great interpretations, I laughed when I read the final part of the description: "Please! Just listen to the music.. don´t put attention in Isola´s... you know..."personality" Truthful!
@latinorama you took the words right out of my mouth....don't you think that people are jelous and awful.....what are all these assinine comments about these "dentures" God! my Grandma would call a person who would write something idiotic like that a "Brutta Bestia"
