  • I watched again... REALL great creation, dear Gina!

  • amazing!

why would anyone rate it bad? :(

  • @Mikielma1 Thank you!

  • Starry, starry night. Paint your palette blue and grey, Look out on a summer's day, With eyes that know the darkness in my soul. Shadows on the hills, Sketch the trees and the daffodils, Catch the breeze and the winter chills, In colors on the snowy linen land. Now I understand what you tried to say to me, How you suffered for your sanity, How you tried to set them free. They would not listen, they did not know how. Perhaps they'll listen now.
  • A planet with that many stars at that close of range would be molten...

  • The music and art make a hauntingly sad but beautiful story.

I loved this version the best! The music and paintings were beautifully timed and made it a pleasure to watch.

  • Thank you, it felt just as beautiful for me to make them all, since I was a Starry Night fan since childhood. It was a very cyclical experience. I am so glad you enjoyed it.

  • Very Nice.... I like the use of layers within a painting...Well Done!

  • Nice job, my favorite painting by van Gogh. Nowdays he would make amination movies to i guess!

Iam into 3D, making theYellow House in Arles in maya, i will try some texture and bumpmaping the way you did so it looks more like a painting. (i will post it when its a little bit done)

Thanks for posting this, great inspiration to us all!!!

  • I saw your Arles - terrific work, it's nice to see it in 3D. Did you make the wall textures from scratch too? Thanks for visiting.

  • dag gekke zus van me

    Love you. Marijke

  • you did a very good job!

  • Thank you!

  • I never saw the "De sterrennacht" in real, as it is in New York. I saw all the ones in Amsterdam though, thanks, its a great video!

  • ah, great finally someone with a good taste. Art, good ( classic ) musik. That combined with an outstanding modern computer artist gives an exellent outcome.

Go on like this, and you'll get many compliments.

  • Well I certainly appreciate this compliment Aktuvor, thank you!

  • That's the Waltz of the Flowers from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite (1892).

  • ur smart

  • If you read.. it's in the description: Tchaikovsky - Waltz of the Flowers

  • Omg nice!:)

  • Thanks!

  • Hi,

Just wanted to say, that your work

matches the passion i have for

    Vincent Van Gogh.

    Thanks a lot !

    Dirk

  • Thank you for saying so Dirk!

  • this is cool,

we just talked about this piece of art

last week in my Art Appreciation class.

i never really understood what it meant until my professor told us.

  • i wanna get this tattooed. i've always LOVED this painting but i hate the color blue but i love the rest.

  • Your video got featured.

  • : )

  • Beautiful piece of work

  • I love the Netherlands.. I'm afraid of what it might become.

  • why didn't you put it to the song starry starry night by don mclean>>>>?

  • Thank you. I chose the sound track I did because it is closer to Van Gogh's actual time. I also like the feeling of building that Tchaikovsky's Waltz of the Flowers evokes, which goes with what my animation is doing (showing you from the start how I created it). The other factor is that I don't know who owns the copyright to the more modern song, this audio is royalty free so I don't get in any trouble : )

  • Thanks to this video I have a new appreciation for old one ear, oh lobe. :) Hehehe

    Thanks

  • nice :)

  • im painting this on the wall at my school...a mural

  • Nice! Perhaps you could do a little video of you painting it and put it on youtube, we would all love to see it : )

  • I thin Tchaikovsky has too little...passion in his music to accompany Van Gogh...somehow I think Beethoven would be better.

  • :))) Passion is not obligatory deprived of tenderness :))) That´s what both Tchaikovsky and I are all about, that´s why I love him. Beethoven is acctually my second fav, but I experience his passion as somewhat destructive.

  • Can´t believe it! My favorite composer (Tchaikovsky) + one of my favorite painters. Thank you, Nanogirl!

  • Oh I'm so glad, this is the best reward!

  • that's just beatifull

and i simply adore that music..

and it just inspired me to do something artistic

    wow 5 stars

  • wtf?!

    NO-liver?

naaah... how did you di9d the 3d effects with the houses, witch program?

    free?

  • I used 3DS Max for the houses. I used photoshop to make the other parts and textures, I then put them all together in Combustion. Thanks for visiting!

  • Oh darkway1991, that is so kind of you to say, thank you so much for that!

  • Awesome. ^^

The best I've seen in ages.

You've got some real talent there!

Keep up the beautifull, inspiring work. :]

    for a song.

  • It´s very nice,and very good! WOW:-))))

    5 ×××××

  • Could someone tell me the name of that tune?

  • It reads in the description; "Music: Waltz of the Flowers by Tchaikovsky."

  • Waltz of the flowers from the Nutcracker ballet suite (Tchaikovsky)

  • wow, this is amazing, :)

  • This is very pretty! ^^

  • Thanks : )

  • van gogh

  • nice BEACH LOL

  • Its very nicely done with the ....sound of the dutch street organ..=)

  • I like that audio description very much!

  • Van gogh had a chair to paint on.

This is made with a computer.

  • COOL, ur da bomb

  • Ah shucks : )

  • wonderful!

  • : )

  • Girl, your video was featured on Youtube! ^_^

  • It was! I knew something happened with all these views. But I didn't see it on the front page.... But thanks for letting me know for sure : )

  • besta

  • How unique that was great. this is actually my favorite painting and artist.

  • I like that some of the houses twirl as they go up and down.

    Go Tchaik!

  • i did a report on van gogh!

  • Great topic!

  • What's the song called?

  • Perhaps you can help me with a question too, I noticed a whole lot of folks visiting this video today, do you happen to know why? The song is: Waltz of the Flowers by Tchaikovsky (for more about this animation click the "more info" link, under my name on the right.

  • well, the reason i visited this video is because it was on the main page of the website when i came to the site just now.

  • It's being featured then... I don't see it being featured on my frontpage... wonder why...

  • that is strange. beautiful animation btw, i loved this video ;D

  • I appreciate that wolffia1, thank you!

  • Its on one of youtube's suggestion lists. like when you first log in there is a panel available with featured things that they recommend you to watch and this was one of them. and also on the videos being watched list i believe. i must say that it is quite beautiful and entertaining. Good Work

  • Thank you so very much, I really appreciate that.

  • The reason why I chose this soundtrack is because it is the same general period (slightly after) - so it was more relevant to the time than a more modern song would be. Also as a working artist if someone wanted to buy the use of my animation say for TV or movie, this soundtrack is royalty free music, so there would be no copyright issues like some other music may have.

  • I also like the sense of building that Tchaikovsky's Waltz of the Flowers has, it matches what I am illustrating with this animation, how I created it from start to finish.

  • awesome! good idea using something recognizable and great job with it!

  • I appreciate that piratesfan27, thanks : )

  • wow that was awesome

  • Thank you!

  • wow, that's really cool. looks like it took a lot of work.

this is my faaavorite painting =)

  • Yes it was a lot of work, but a lot of joy as well : )

  • Dig it!

  • Yeah, video is great, but you really shuold have used :starry night" by Joe Satriani ;)

  • I think Vincent by Don Mclean

  • wow! amazing :D

  • That must have cost you a lot of time...

    Well done Nanogirl!!!

    Amazing job!

  • nice. but you shoulda used the song "Starry night"

    its about the painting. :P

  • cool! Don't like tschaikowsky but Van Gogh is cool :D

  • Well done. I like it very much - and I like Tschaikowsky too... :-)

  • This must of took a while to do.. Very nice

  • He would have cut both his ears off, but he's a big fan of Tchaikovsky.

  • i never really liked van gohs work

  • i never really liked tchaikovsky's work

  • that's co cool!!!

  • sound track killed the whole thing...

  • haha i thought the sound track was awesomeness

  • "Vincent" by Don McClean, Masterpiece. I'm pretty sure that this painting was made in honor of that song ;) Haha.

  • It was; it says that in the liner notes of American Pie.

  • Very cool idea. It was quite well done, but I feel like it could have used something more. The movement of the houses seemed a bit too mechanical, and I think if they were textured for the entire animation, it would have looked a bit better. Overall though, nice work. I also liked how the pieces of sky dropped in like puzzle pieces.

  • zZzZzZzzz.....

  • Its Ebdaaaaa3 Rsmh
