Culturally, Jews drink less than a lot of other cultures, and place greater emphasis on school. My dad is Jewish and he came from a lower middle class family, worked a job to pay for med-school and became a successful doctor. My mom's family is Irish, places very little emphasis on education, and drinks heavily. Cultural differences are responsible. Today, the asians are on the rise.
