Eh, some younger folks grew up with the current bangle-styled cars, perhaps thats why they prefer the E60 M5.

Personally I love all of them. I love the E28 for it's perfect cubist looks, and I love the E39 for its V8 perfection, and I love the E60 for it's fantastic V10 fury.

@peterdoubleyouz The S38 is a great engine, no doubt but its a bitch to maintain. Even when compared to the V8 in E39 M5. The E39 M5 was the pinnacle of BMW design IMO. The blend of that beastly high tech v8 through a manual transmission with classic BM looks makes it feel very special. The interior of the E34 looks like its from the 80's, yet somehow the E39 is still a nice place to be. Could you say that about the E34 when the E60 came out? I don't think you could.

M5 great car no doubt about it, now i see people writing things about C63s and how Mercedes used superchargers, 1 This is an M5 vid not M3, so compare this M5 to the E63 or E55.

2. Mercedes-Benz stopped using superchargers way back about 01-02 this is a 04-05 vid, plus Mercedes-Benz engines have baggs of torgue something BMW lacks.

Its down to taste.

The E60 has an "M button" so press it and stop complaining. You don't have to change the gearbox, 'follow you home lights' if you don't want to. The iDrive, even the early versions of it are extremely easy to use and I never understood what the fuss was about- Audi and Mercedes both clearly thought it was a good idea. Clarkson can be such a bollocks at times.

I like Porsche because of the idea behind it, the efficiency and their strive for perfection in all areas, including racing, where they dominated. Plus there is the distinctive shape. The new GT3 RS 4.0, wich is a street version of GT3 RSR, puts out 500 hp from a 4 litre naturally aspirated flat 6. I dont like some commercial models from them like Cayenne and Panamera, but every company has stuff like that, to make that extra bit of money.

I agree to an extent, but would include the 90s as well. With Bangle's drastic designs, the new models are almost somewhat diluted and don't quite have the same character that previous body styles had. They just look and seem cheaper in quality in my opinion.
