Thanks for the detailed explanation,

If after editing the index.ewd and adding the init function, that should do the ewd.ajaxRequest i still see the original td's content is there a problem with my EWD configuration? Do you have any idea/guess what is wrong?

The files were compiled with no warning or errors... so the ajax request should went threw...
