@Mario4Italy The AMD 6950 cards are reference cards, where as other cards like the Gigabyte 6950 OC Windforce edition is a non-reference card with customized specs.
@ccrtcc I have the GIGABYTE GV-R695OC-1GD Radeon HD 6950 1GB in crossfire housed in a little COOLER MASTER HAF 912 RC-912-KKN1. To answer your question, YES the Antec 900 can house the XFX 6950's just fine.
XFX Double D HD-695X-CDFC Radeon HD 6950 2GB in the Antec 900 case? the case seems a little to small, my Nvidia 8800GT seems pretty big in it as it is.
i recently built my rig with this case and the case and i was looking through the things it came with and i found a pci wireless card "ventilation blocker/slit/cover"...instead of being black like the other ones in the back its silver and its half the size. tbh i dont even know where this would go or if it came with the case... anyone else have this part and know what to do with it?
hey man i got the exact same graphics card as you, but i have a different mother board. If i decide to crossfire, would the motherboard effect the performance of graphics card ? PLZ help!
The one thing I hated about the 902 was the insanely short front panel audio. I dont like running cords across my mobo, but other than that...I love the case.
@prohacker883 Operative system dummy? The system botts much faster and responds much faster when its running on SSD. Then put your games and other stuff on that HDD.
Hah... this is so similar to my build. Gigabyte z68, 2500k, kingston 64gb v100, 8gb ripjaw 1866, 1.5tb hdd, hd5850, tx750, and finally cooler master 212+
good job very like my own rig :) the power use is not so bad for the 6950/6970 series only about 509 watt in full load with my duel 6950 cards :P so thumps up for the 69** series low power consumption :D littel more info
@N3RQx You stupid retard it's overkill. Could run 3x HD 6950's. People run 2x HD 6970's with 750W power supplies lol... 2x GTX 580's would run on 850W. Not talking about garbage power supplies, for example Corsair and NZXT make good quality power supplies.
omg i am about to build a computer almost identical to this one! thanks so much Mrgames! i was worried that the 6950 wouldn't fit in the antec 902! thankyou! subscribed~!
@rpenri I'm pretty sure that is a problem with the case not the Motherboard. Newegg reviews say that the cable to connect the usb3.0 cable to connect it is external, so you would have to get an internal adapter.
@cannotdisplay64 Nothing major, maybe 3-4fps. Most major reviewing sites have stated that the difference is literally invisible, and has zero impact on performance
does running crossfire in x16 x8 pci-express effect performance that much because all the boards that i can find that support 1155 processors dont have 2 x16 pci-express slots but i want to run duel 6950's in the future
I kinda got the same build, only i took a Asus Motherboard, and the 2gb sapphire version of the 6950. and i believe its an XFX Black edition 750W. And ofc the 1155 socket 2600K. So awsome :D
@UntasticEzpz whats wrong with the 902? Comes with 4 led fans and painted interior with a window. A lot of cases are based on personal preference. I love the 912 too but they both have their place
@UntasticEzpz uhh no it does not. cooling wise antec 902 performs better. haf 912 only has 2 fans. one exhaust and 1 intake fan. antec 902 has 2 fans in the front. can put 2 fans for the GPU, one monster top fan and a back exhuast fan.
I have a question guys. I've heard (and it must be true) that all processors have some kind of GPU "preference". I've heard something like "Intel pairs with Geforce. and AMD with ATI".
I know that this is not totally(?) true. I've seen many i7 setups with the 6950 or 6970...
Question is... Will a Geforce GTX 560 ti Overclocked at 900 mhz give it all with a i7 2600k? Or did I do a stupidity for commanding them.
You said one of the screws didn't quite go in when installing the SSD card. Is it not hot swappable? Also as the hard drives aren't installed front loading (like the cooler masters), were they fiddly to install? Reason I'm asking is because after the graphic cards were installed, it looked like there was little room for anything else in there.
@jacovand5 it will certainly come close. there are no requirements released but the 6950 is powerful, that paired with a good i7 should do a very good job but don't take my word for it.
@MrGamesOfficial better off getting an i5 . i7 only has a 0.1 ghz difference that you can just overclock the i5 too and is about $100 more, not worth it yet.
@Mongerzz but the i7s have hyperthreading. some ppl rekon its worth $100 more. personally i dont think its worth it. i have a 2500k oced to 5ghz and its better than most i7s out there :)
I'm running 2x6950 and getting about 80-100fps on average at 1080p res with an Intel 2600k @ 4.5ghz. Should wait til BF3 is released before buying a GPU if that's the only game you plan on upgrading for.
@Syn94 depends on what you mean by "good" a gtx280 from the start of 2008 can still run most games maxed or close to max you can now get cards more powerful for $150-$200au
intel core2 quad cores can be easily overclocked to compete against the low-medium range i7's and can be purchased pretty cheap on ebay these days seeing people dont realise this.
obviously this is not the best stuff but it will do a fairly similar job as the pc in this video but for a fraction of the price
@MrGamesOfficial My question though, is getting the newer 2010-2011 model of the emachines computer sold at walmart, is it worth getting to play WoW on? I assume it's atleast decent seeing as it has an AMD Phenom processor.
I will be building a similar PC soon and I was just wondering where to put the RAM. In slots 1 and 3 or 2 and 4. by the looks of things you have done 2 and 4. Does it tell you in the instructions?
Only 1333mhz ram I would have definitely got 1600 and I would have gotten the silverstone strider 750w psu it's 80+ silver and only $140 and that case is over priced for what it is IMO
@MiniExtreme that psu wasnt available locally, and not much if any overclocking will be done hence the standard ram. The CPU can be overclocked by the multiplier anyway not affecting the ram speed.

@MrGamesOfficial u say im probebly destroy it after ashort time???
idan124 2 months ago
@MrGamesOfficial
2x Radeon HD 6950s run just fine with a quality 650W PSU. For 2x GTX 570/HD 6970 a 750W is a better bet.
People tend to go overkill on the PSU a lot.
Atheismrulez 2 months ago
@MrGamesOfficial i already have chiftec psu of 750w coz that i asked u
idan124 1 month ago
@idan124 Yes you can run 2 6950s with that PSU. However depending on the brand and specs of the PSU you could run into troubles,
Amrut223 2 months ago
@idan124 yes you can.but try to take something better then a 750w psu and get corsair or antec psu
buzz9961 1 month ago
@idan124 Using the psu calculator you only need 580w though im sure it also depends on your other hardware as well. So my guess is that you can.
