  • In Germany Bones is called "Pille" what means Pill!

  • Bridge Commander! nicely done ;-)

  • Looks and sounds like the opening to "Star Trek: The Animated Series"!!!!!

  • This doesn't have a very good framerate either--it's still too jumpy. Also, when the Enterprise is in warp drive, it's not going nearly fast enough.

  • @PCCphoenix Holy crap, constructive criticism! *gasp!* Yeah, I know the framerate sucks. Sadly, there's very little I can do about that. If someone with a better rig than mine could take a crack at it, they could probably do better.

  • After all these years of waiting for the studio to come out with an 'origins' movie for the Trek characters, the Abrams treatment was a disappointment. It really ISN'T a Trek movie if you consider the fact that the entire plot takes place in an alternate universe. So, I'm still waiting for an 'origins' movie with the original characters and the original Enterprise. Are listening, fan-film producers?

  • I wish they would ues the old Enterprise and redo the inside would be ok as we are not in the 60's era tech

  • excellent, well done.

  • i have proof that that abrams is going to cave in roberto orci gave an interview to HitFix at the sandiego comic-con here is an extract of that We have designers working on the Enterprise and what could change. read into that what you will for% 100 proof see trekweb.com or google star trek xii

  • @luigi19987 That's not proof. Orci later commented to TrekMovie that what he meant was that we're going to see new sections of the ship that we hadn't before.

  • @Anduril74871 it is true there redesigning the ship itself and showing off other locations and also redesigning the main title

  • @luigi19987 "Perhaps i should clarify. We will see new sections of the Enterprise, not necessarily redesigning, though." Direct from Bob Orci, courtesy of Trek Movie.com.

  • @luigi19987 Well done, i really like it, fan since about 1975.

  • i have proof that that abrams is going to cave in roberto orci gave an interview to HitFix at the sandiego comic-con here is an extract of that We have designers working on the Enterprise and what could change.

  • I hate this new "Enterprise." It's an ugly, fat, clunky ship. I'm not exactly sure what was so bad about the original design? That design IS the Enterprise.

  • @milojthatch Fat? Fat?? The engineering hull is SLIMMED DOWN. I hate disagreeing with you cause you've got an awesome user name, but I must disagree with you.

  • @Anduril74871 Fair enough. You have your Enterprise, and I have mine, all seven of them. :D Eight if you count the re-fit from the original to the first film. Nine if you count the Enterprise-J.

Thanks for the complement about my user name none the less. :D

  • @milojthatch Don't get me wrong, I love almost all the Enterprises. The only ones I'm not too big a fan of are the D and the J. And as much as I love the new Enterprise, as well as the original ship that inspired her...my favorite is still the refit from the movies.

  • @Anduril74871 You mean the re-fit from the first to third films of the original? The "A" basically was the same thing with an "A" slapped on it. I can agree with you on that, that design was awesome!

  • Looks like two doomsday machines have replaced the naceles.

  • @TheVargr That would be overkill...someone should do that!

  • Jesus Christ, it's a nice video and all some people can do is insult the guy who probably went to a lot of trouble to make it. Petulant haters have no place in the ethos of Star Trek. If you don't like it, then feck off and make your own videos with whatever version of the Enterprise you like.

Actually, you want to know why the franchise was in trouble? The people on here are prime example. Stuck up nerds who talk shit on the internet and can't handle any change.

  • Cool job but the ship still ugly

  • Rofl!!! This vid made me laugh! Good job. Still don't like the new design of the ship, and the way the nacelles are attached really bug me, but at least the ship looks cooler here.

  • Rofl, this made me laugh! Lolol. I loved it. The way the nacelles are attached to the ship still really bug me, but i guess i can get use to the new look. This was an awesome vid.

  • To richm64 - wow, you liked it a LOT more than I did!

  • @kez6666 You sir, are a dick.

  • @Anduril74871 For speaking the truth?

  • This animation is awful! Sorry but it really looks bad. The earth texture mapping has severe issues as well.

  • @richm64 Maybe before shooting your mouth off, you might read the description. This is NOT an animation. This is video captured from Star Trek Bridge Commander over a year ago. I had no choice in how the Earth texture was done, and I can't help that my computer is an almost 4 year old laptop and doesn't have the best quality video card. Nor do I have the best video capturing software. I don't know what I was working with at the time either.

  • @Anduril74871 The quality of your computer card or age of your computer doesn't address Rich's point, which is that this is terribly conceived and executed. There's not a single aspect of it that's properly done or pleasing. Of *course* it's an animation; what do you think it is, a puppet show?

  • FROM POST w/Hossola---on board Enterprise at least until the end. And while he looked nothing like Pavel-nothing a Beatles wig could't fix, his cherubic performance reminded me very much of the young navigator of TOS. I can live with the look of Enterprise, tho' it still should have seemed 'clunkier'. But I really missed the naccel's rotating/glowing 'points'! As for the insides, Too BRIGHT! Vulcan destroyed: UH, No. Amanda's death:NO! Uhura & Spock:WHAT?! Shaking things up is good! But Come-ON!

  • I've always had very mixed feelings about the look of the J.J. Abrams' version of our beloved USS Enterprise. Something is wrong.

In my opinion, however, the "new" NCC-1701 looks sharp and quite majestic in this video. ( TOS or The Motion Picture USS Enterprise will always be my favorites!)

Great job on the video itself, as well! If only someday we could have a Pine, Quinto, Urban, ect. television show instead of having to wait every three years.....

    Thank you! Excellent upload!

  • @hossola77 I want to redo the video with Wiley's new version, but that might be some time down the line. I love the new Enterprise, but the TMP refit has a special place in my heart. :)

  • Too bad they just didn't come up with a whole new crew Star Trek like Next Gen did, Like what were the adventures of Captain Pike like!?, that way people would not be at each others throats over the reboot, pity! Say why we cant all just like both like I and ,many do, open your mind, think of the new Trek as a diff Timeline Trek if you must, that way you can still like the original and the new, but for me the best Trek ever is still The Wrath of Khan! I am 19/f/ and @ Vassar , My Dads a Trekkie!

  • @Utubetrekk It is a new timeline, but people don't get that. But you definitely talk sense, I love both and I agree, The Wrath of Khan is still the best!

  • Hmm...why does your Enterprise look so much sleeker and cooler than the actual ship in the movie? Nice job!

  • @CrusaderK Easy. The Enterprise in the movie only had two slow passes to allow people to take her in. Which I'm fine with, the story for the movie demanded urgency.

  • All the haters are stuck in a time loop and are also out of phase. xD

    Live long and prosper.

  • @Leonidae They're stuck back in the 60's watching Lost in Space!

  • Good vid! As for the movie, I generally like it & Urban as McCoy was so unlikely but he TOTALLY nailed it! Things I DIDN"T like: The death of Spock's Mom & Vulcan(WHY?!?!), the skinny Uhura actress(otherwise, very sexy) & her romance with Spock(HUH!?!?! Tho' I remember reading about a subplot of ST-TOS that toyed with this...), the Romulan villan was to easy a plot device. Scenes of Kirks dad in Starfleet--instead I would show Kirks early career, Carol Marcus & the cloud creature aftermath!

  • @Velocity9s: "Instead I would show Kirks early career, Carol Marcus & the cloud creature aftermath!"

Cool idea, bit I'm pretty sure Abrams' would've nixed it because it caters too much to us Trekkers and has too much canon.

  • @hossola77 May Abrams do a hand-stand on his stove while cooking oatmeal...! No, I'm kidding. But this movie did not honour ST. Tho' i have to admit there were bits of genius. The choice of Karl Urban for McCoy was brilliant. I reallly believed him as McCoy in the accademy yrs. Quinto was a fine Spock & Pine was adequit as Kirk. The Uhura girl did NOT remind me of N.Nichols AT ALL! I liked the Sulu actor but had mixed feelings about the Scotty & Chekov actors(Chekov should NOT have been on---MORE

  • I really like the Abrams Enterprise, and the 2009 movie. It revived a movie franchise that was long dead and drained of any ideas. It actually made Star Trek fun again, after Braga and Berman were done running it into the ground. So to all the haters I say, "your franchise is dead, long live the new franchise." This is a nice tribute to the old series, though it could be smoother.

  • Nice video, frame rate is a bit low thow, the sound of the ship passing happens almost to early

  • @droidekabakugan1986 NOT the type of response I would expect from a TRUE Star Trek fan. That was very immature of you. You should really stop trying to FORCE your opinion on those of us who think this movie SUCKED. Because everything about Abrams' Star Trek SUCKED! You're trying to bully people because they have a different opinion about this horrible film than you do.

    Agree to disagree.

This movie was shit, as was this design of the Enterprise!

As Mister Actionguy said, "Get over it!"

  • @Actionguy1 I've been a Trekkie since I could shit my diapers and there's nothing wrong with this Star Trek. Since my time Trekkies have turned into sniveling, close-minded nit-pickers and it embarasses a lot of us "old" veterans. Grow the fuck up.

  • @spacecowboy5000 Well said, spacecowboy. I'm 49 and was there, live, in front of the TV as a 6 year old, and been a hardcore Trekker ever since. I thought I would hate this new Abrams version, but found I like it a lot. I'm still a TOS fan, but "get it" that the new film/version respects TOS. The rest of you mugs are too intolerant. Welcome yourselves to the 21 Century.

  • @droidekabakugan1986 lol Abrams class u say? ooooo i find that interesting lol XD mabey perhaps the name Abrams class should be this Enteprise's new class designation

  • i agree with those who think the new ship is cool and i also think mr rodenberry would be upset by the comments made by the so called fans who hate the new look

  • cool

  • First off, Roddenberry was cremated, not buried, so no grave to roll around in. And secondly, I am sick of the negativity aimed at this ship. It has everything necessary to be called "Enterprise" and the movie had everything necessary to be called "Star Trek." This is coming from someone who prepared for the movie by watching ALL 80 EPISODES OF THE ORIGINAL SERIES!!!

  • @Anduril74871 I think you're right that arguing about the new film on a video that's just show casing your effects and model work is silly. Liking the new film or not (or the new ship) has nothing to do with this video. So as a video, I liked it, especially the Shatner intro. I think you did the flybys great, and liked how you made it a bit more smooth than the original. Good job.

  • @Anduril74871 thank you man, idk why ppl hate this enterprise. tos enterprise was great for its time and this is a updated version of it which i happen to like very much

  • @Anduril74871 Ignore them. It's just a bunch of sad old nerds who want to live in the past and think that everything from before is better. They can't accept the fact that their beloved cult franchise had become stale and needed a shot in the arm to become popular, fun and enjoyable again.

You'll notice that it's only the hardcores who hate the new film. More casual fans love it.

  • @Anduril74871 people like actionguy 1 are triying to ruin it you are correct in suggesting rodenberry would be upset at this stupid baby ass argument i like star trek the argument must die

  • @Anduril74871 Very nice video. Just ignore the haters - they're stuck in the past and can't handle changes. And let's face it, some people just love to have a bitch about anything. Gene Roddenberry would have been very happy to watch this vid and the new movie, and to know that the vision of Star Trek (which isn't about obsessing over trivia) is still popular 40 years on.

  • @jimbopumbapigsticks After Roddenbery took the time to write the "trivia" laden book "The Making of Star Trek", a reprint of a very technical TV Series bible, I doubt your logic.

  • @Idazmi7 Erm, so Roddenberry wrote a book for the fans which had a lot of trivia. Big deal. I still think he'd be saddened to see people obsessing over it and treating it like dogma, to the extent of engaging in petty and mean-spirited squabbles about a work of fiction. Like it or not, that goes against everything Gene believed in.

  • @jimbopumbapigsticks He wrote it to CBS you nut. It was published for fans 2 years later.

  • @Anduril74871 Actually it was 79, including the original pilot, but I agree with you 100%. It takes a lot more than the name for a ship to be called Enterprise, it has to live up to the meaning of Enterprise. What the Enterprise represents, and good ol' JJ's Enterprise fits that bill perfectly, like all the Enterprises that came before it.

  • how dare you!!!!! Gene Rodenberry is roling in his grave!!!!!!

  • omg Paramount should wreck that crappy ship

  • fuck abrams fuck his movie and fuck tyhis abomination of a ship it was a good job u did but if this ever really happened id turn my back on trek forver

  • Great job.

  • the wings should of been straight and swept back like the refit

  • I just hope Admiral Archer's beagle was OK... :(

  • In the novel, the beagle rematerializes on the Enterprise transporter pad - still alive and in one piece - at the very end of the book as Enterprise departs on her five-year mission. ^_^

  • Looks like I will be reading the novel now. Thanks for the quick book review.

  • Great job! I like it!

  • I suppose so but the nacelle wings on the JJ-Prise have only a little bit of Engineering section! The shuttle bay is right beneath where they attach! To me that looks silly.

  • @droidekabakugan1986 its more put together too. Also in star trek 3 Kirk said "Young minds Fresh ideas" or something along the sort.

  • Don't tell me what I can, or cannot write. Those "pod racers" as you call them are way out of place and should be removed, or at least spaced correctly apart instead of being so close together. I am sure the ghosts of Gene Roddenberry and Matt Jeffries are haunting Ryan Church's house, or should be for muddling up a classic design.

  • I agree that all that should have been done was to space them apart.

  • Why? There are no technical problems associated with the engines being closer together. It actually reduces the ship's profile from certain angles, making it a harder target to hit.

  • What?! I don't care about how a ship that looked like that in real life would work. All I'm saying is that it looks silly.

  • @Anduril74871 It also makes the engines stand out from certain camera angles, where as on the other versions, they disappeared on a white or grey backdrop.

  • lol in my view the 09 Enteprise was ok despite a few minor issues but still just cuz i like the 09 version of the Enteprise dosent mean i dont like its successors those that say i have forgotton about the original n TMP ones well i say screw you ok no offence as i said in my last comment theres always room for improvement n if they decide to keep this design well that would be were i just give up on defending JJ Abrams n his version of the Enteprise pereiod.

  • @droidekabakugan1986 XD u know i was thinkin the same thing until i eventualy gave up ok the original connie which ofc was designed by the l8 Matt Jeffreies was the only fan favorite until JJ Abrams bought this version out hell to me he just didint even think b4 he revealed this

  • basicly the only thing i see wrong with this version is the way the saucer is positioned on the saucer neck aswell as were the neck is situated.

  • And that's where you are wrong. Structurally and tactically speaking, the saucer is in a much stronger position. And I'm personally sick of all the bashing that's going on here. Address the video itself, not the movie.

  • Stop whining. We are simply addressing the design concept of the JJ ship, not the movie. The starship Enterprise is just as much of a character in the movie as the people are. I think the actors did a splendid job portraying their characters, even though the temporal/ technical details were way off.

  • hey now thats just un called for ok u may think its better than its successors but that gives u no call the TMP or TOS counterparts ugly or flimsy ok most ppl that have seen the movie do like it others have also said that the JJprise could use room for improvement HELL they could otherwise improve more on the budget b4 ever doin a movie like this.

  • JJ Abrams did a very sloppy job on this movie. Look at the horribly-plagarised TMP saucer and dildo nacelles, and look as to how many shuttlecraft can cram into the bay on the 1701. Also, it amazes me as to how a ship like the Kelvin, which is a single-nacelled vessel can house over 800 people. Obviously, the changes of the timeline took place long before the Narada ever showed up. The bridge interior looks like a Mac store.

  • People keep saying over and over that the new enterprise design is the result of the Narada.

No. That doesnt work. Did you look at the USS Kelvin?

Polarise the viewscreen. An entirely different technology from the way the view screen was ever shown to work.

The nacelle on the Kelvin looks nothing like anything we saw in TOS or Enterprise. The design is similar to TOS stuff, but in many ways far ahead of the original enterprise.

    So that arguement doesnt work.

  • That's because it's movie quality footage, whereas the TV Enterprise was TV quality. It looks worse because they has less of a budget and therefore couldn't afford the detail, obviously.

Same as how the Enterprise-D has the same bridge in Generations but a much better lighting scheme.

  • No. Its because the artists and writers on Trek XI wanted to change things.

TOS Enteprise is a timeless design, with just some additional texture detail and a better lighting scheme it would've worked on the big screen.

Take the refit enterprise. It was originally designed for the sequel TV series "Star Trek Phase 2" The design itself wasnt drastically changed, just added detail to it for the big screen, and built at a larger scale. They could have easily done that with the original.

  • I'm certain that they just enjoy fucking around with the Enterprise to screw the fans over.

  • I doubt it has anything to do with that at all. JJ Abrams did talk about wanting to add"more Rock and Roll" and make the Enterprise a bit of a hot rod, which is gratuitous.

The Enterprise is a giant starship, an aircraft carrier-battleship-submarine, in space. It goes to the heart of what Star Trek is. Part Hornblower, part western, and part scifi adventure.

I may not like the changes JJ and co are making, but I dont think they are malicious, just ignorant and misguided.

  • Okay. Just checking.

  • I reckon the new enterprise looks great. Of course I liked the original and refit connys, but they would have looked odd in a 2009 movie, espec the TOS conny. I agree with other comments saying that the appearance of the Narada caused a design change in Starfleet, especially in the weapons.

  • the fact that it is not shiny white is one of many blunders of that sucker new movie

  • Clowns* Typo

  • yeah how dare they put this shit over the original Grrr it pisses me off so bad that piece of shit enterprise,,, JJ cares nothing for star trek all he wanted to do was make money thats it the man freaking destroyed Vulcan and killed kirks dad do you know what those thing would have do to the future do you understand time travel now in the next star trek JJ can put what the hell he wants in there and so on well its a new universe he just wanted star trek for himself what next close on unicycles

  • Put the entire JJprise to thy pipe and burn it into ashes.

  • May gods bless the soul of Matt Jefferies

    May gods bless the Enterprise

May gods bless The Original Series

  • @ Niusereset in the words of william shattner

warp speed to Matt Jefferies and the TOS enteprise.

  • I liked the new Enterprise with the timeline change, loved the original variations of the Enterprise except the C. Still the constitution class is a classic with the TOS opening.

  • @ averyny ur forgetting the Entp C is an ambassador that happens to be using a similar design to the constitution.

  • I'm not. I think the designs from the Constitution class to the Galaxy, has grown more advanced that when they introduced the Ent-C the Ambassador class. My thought was WTH. Until they introduced that my thoughts Constitution (solid), Excelsoir (sleek) and then Galaxy (best ofo both worlds) class. was the transition.

I imagined the C being close to the Exelsoir class but probably a bigger and more solid design.

  • Video ok, but on the dump with this Abrams scrap. This ship we called: "Kesselprise" because the warp nacelles are so thick that boilers have space in them.

  • I Love The 2009 Enterprise!

  • Nice editing.

  • I thought the Abram's enterprise was brilliant and paid homage to the original design

  • I for one, actually like the new Enterpise, and I've been a Star Trek fan since I can remember. I admit, I hated it when I first saw it but after seeing it in action I like it better than the original. Yes, I said it. I like it BETTER than TOS Enterpise....blasphemy you say? My own opinion.

  • though i dont agree that its better than tos, i will respect your opinion and not argue

  • Wow, thank you! It is rare that someone replying actually has the courtesy of not slamming someone for a difference of opinion. That shows class and respect. Kudos to you.

  • your welcome, i try to have courtesy towards other people and their opinions =)

  • To this moment I really don't understand, how someone can like JJ-prise.

Matt Jefferies must weep, if the dead weep.

    I would weep in his place . . . .

  • Excuse me, but it was very obvious what the video's content was going to be, and yet you still comment on it?

  • I knew and I had to. I gotta admit the video was made good. That Enterprise did not.

I hate that redesign and I see no reason why to hide it.

I did not rate your video badly for that. In fact I did not rate it at all.

I just hate that redesign, this violation on THE Enterprise. This video just reminds me that damage which had been don on Star Trek and I truly hope Star Trek will never continue in that way.

  • you see this is why people who like this change hate people like you who can not see the reason for it it is called aternate reality this means to separate the timeline,s the redesign was needed

  • Alterbate reality which began just few years before beginning of construction of that ship.

The entire group of designers and constructers, which created Constitution class, had to die on USS Kelvin so this can happen.

There are thing which can be explained by alternate reality. But the entire movie is full of mistakes and nonsences which cannot be.

  • no I think it's because the nerada popped up that forced starfleet to tell the consitution class design team to redo the blueprints to make a more battle ready starship. The constitution class would be in development by the time Kirk was born.

  • Can be said so. But the differences are huge. Mainly interiors are totaly strange.

I wrote it manytimes but the bridge looks more modern than ships from the 24th century but the engeneering looks like from HMS Titanic or CSS Virginia.

It has totaly nothing common with the design of the middle of 23rd century (or with anything showed in Star Trek from 22nd to 24th century).

  • All I can say is the kelvin's scans of the nerada made the enterprise more bad ass.

  • I don't like the new design as much as the original, but I can respect it as a separate work.

I'm just glad they had the sense to cover their asses with the alternate reality story. The uproar of the Trekkies would be sadly ever more annoying.

  • I must commend you. The grachics and animation were very well executed. But the more I look at it I realize just how ridiculous the design of the "JJ-prise" looks.

Thanks' for such a well made video!

  • It is ridiculous. And its design rejects almost all what Roddenberry wanted from designers of THE Enterprise.

  • I agree with you there. This was a botched and terribly plagarised version of the most classical design in science fiction history. Both Matt Jeffries, and Gene Roddenberry would be rolling in their graves at the sight of this.
