Hi there The Shags. You started the band in the middle of the 60s but this track must be a several years later? It´s really good!!!! I´m a big fan of garage rock from the 60s. And all over the world there were a lot of great bands. Listen for example to The Misunderstood and of course THE ZETTLERS. Great bands that did´nt break through. Listen to The Zettlers versions of "Skinnie Minnie" and "Beautiful Delilah". It´s so fu......, yes it´s really good!!!!
I think it's fake because the recording technics and the sound (also the composition is influenced of later '69) is not of the 60s and I'm listening it from my portable pc; drum kick mic, too thin hihat and crash, hand clap and maracas not in a live take in a big room or effected later, bass strings too tender and played with fingers.
"A virtual unknown at that time, Greg Leskiw was brought in to join the group when John left . The Shags with Greg later changed the bands name to The Jamieson Robertson Device and then to The Logan Avenue Comfort Station, Mood Ja Ja, and Scrubaloe Caine .Greg and Billy were the only original Shags band members left by this time.What was left of the original band totally disbanded when Greg left for the Guess Who. " This was the 60's
Great tune, but this can't be the original recording. It sounds too clean and modern. Especially the drums. Would love to hear the original! Please : )

@TEMPmichaelhansen I know, right? the production is way too big to be from the 60's, it would seem. Maybe they were ahead of their time :)

@dougcassidy .
Just read the story of the musicians:
"A virtual unknown at that time, Greg Leskiw was brought in to join the group when John left . The Shags with Greg later changed the bands name to The Jamieson Robertson Device and then to The Logan Avenue Comfort Station, Mood Ja Ja, and Scrubaloe Caine .Greg and Billy were the only original Shags band members left by this time.What was left of the original band totally disbanded when Greg left for the Guess Who. Did the Shags of Canada ever play at the Grooveyard in Vancouver?

For a second I thought this was the shaggs, and then I snapped myself out of it when I realized this band was playing music not noise
