@partypenguinful The Vikingasveitin is a Police Unit with the same training as the Norwegian Armed Forces Special Forces and the Danish SF and the Unit is about 80-120 men... Yes we depend on nato we always have ca 4-8 fighter jets armed and ready form NATO and staff of ca 400. :)

@partypenguinful The Vikingasveitin is a Police Unit with the same training as the Norwegian Armed Forces Special Forces and the Danish SF and the Unit is about 80-120 men... Yes we depend on nato we always have ca 4-8 fighter jets armed and ready form NATO and staff of ca 400. :)

No, the Norweigian military is a joke compared to the FDF:
"The Norwegian Armed Forces (Norwegian: Forsvaret ("The Defence")) numbers about 23,000 personnel, including civilian employees.[1] According to mobilisation plans as of 2009, the strength during full mobilisation was approximately 83,000 combatant personnel.[1]"
83 000 men isn't enough to stop even a small invasion. Lucky for Norway and Sweden though, they have Finland as their shield.

You are right actually. Iceland does not have an army. They have a special unit you could call type the swat team. It is amazing that a so small nation about (300 000) can actually have that at all.
There after you have heroes in the rescue force, many doing that without pay. Iceland is on a list for peaceful nations in the world at no. and don't forget we are talking about a nation with little over 300 000 inhabitants

Wrong on both counts
Iceland has a 5 metre long railway next to the old harbour.
The US NAVAL base on Miðnesheiði is now a base of the Iceland defence agency and the Icelandic Navy/Coast Guard.

There are hundreds of instances of warfare between Icelanders and the English over the last 1000 years. I suggest you try contacting the history dep. of the Uninversity of Iceland.

Saying that Iceland beat Britain during the Cod wars goes off the mark as much as saying that Georgia beat the Russian Army during their last micro-war. Should Russia decide to take over tje entire Georgia, NOTHING could stop them from doing so. Same thing with Iceland. It would take Britain 2 or 3 years to overcome the resistance, but in the end Iceland would become a Commonwealth province.

The point Im trying to make is that a British frigate is not designed to ram tug boats , its designed to fire missiles and monitor the Russian navy ,yet it did just that rather than launch a missile at a Iceland tug/coastal boat. Thats restraint and you lot think you won a war, lol get a life!

Well, the Icelandic gunboats weren't excatly build to ram frigates either. Well most of them weren't, the coast guard did have one modified trawler who is said to have sliced trough your mighty "guided missile destroyer" fleet like warm knife through butter. Anyways, as their was no guns involved both fleets were "fighting" on even terms and Iceland came on top. Now go cry me a river, build a bridge and get over it.

Thats not true sturlast Icelandic gun boats fired at British trawlers on several occasions funnily enough they never fired on a armed British ship though. There is of course the time an Icelandic gun boat fired shots at a British trawler and closes in on it with its gun armed and ready to fire. British warship arrives on scene (thin hulled one) tells them if they fire again on trawler they will sink them. Icelandic gun boat disappears!.
