Impressive, I'm CFA and we've got a SEM built Hino 2.4D. However as with everything there is pro's and cons between the two, guess different area's have different requirements too!
How much water does it carry? How big is the pump? (it looks big!) Plenty of stoage too and I love that intercom probably the best solution to the intercom problem that I have seen yet!
We've now got a fleet of these units in service and are finding them to be a very good unit. They are based on the SA CFS 34 type units, with extra design input and changes from a team in the ACT RFS/ESA to improve capability for severe offroad use, and some other general design tweaks to suit our type of operations and some longer term capabilities. We also have heavy CAF units (different manufacturer).
Yep... agree'd!!! fantastic looking truck indeed!!! Looks very very similar to a SA CFS 34 & 34P Appliance... think Moore Engineering Build for SACFS aswell!!! very well done guys... fantastic job on a fantastic appliance!!! be good to see an example of this truck for the CFA down here in Melbourne!!!
fantastic looking truck mate. im a member of the nsw rfs...we have our own engineering team within the rfs who design and build our trucks... wish ours were built as well as that. looks like a really safe truck to work from. well done
@marc89don I'm in the NSW RFS, and have worked along side these trucks at burns, they are good trucks but our Cat 1's seem comparable, they are also used differently and we have diffrent SOPs. One thing I like is the low water warning, but I don't see a use for the intercom since the truck already has a fireground. The little things on ACT RFS trucks are good but I can live without them.
