I swore my first oath 33 years ago. I took another oath when went into LE. I have read and studied the Constitution, Bill of Rights and the Federalist papers.
Many have forgotten the Oath and what is expected of us. Honor, Duty Country and even respect for our fellow Americans should mean everything to each of us.

i am former military and police. all you say is correct, and it is possible that most would fail a test on the constitution. police work can abrade the soul a bit as they commonly meet people at their worst. gun ownership is a pretty important point with a lot of police. on that point alone you would get officers refusing to participate. as far as the military goes, i think troops with cell phones would be most disturbed to learn martial law was declared in their home state.
@shawn87ize I think you're right. The challenge is that as a soldier (and I took that oath once) the situation doesn't arise until you are ordered to do it. To me that is the challenge and the message here. Remind them because while say a group in NY may go along a group in KY may not. Consistent reminder is the key.

i am former military and police. all you say is correct, and it is possible that most would fail a test on the constitution. police work can abrade the soul a bit as they commonly meet people at their worst. gun ownership is a pretty important point with a lot of police. on that point alone you would get officers refusing to participate. as far as the military goes, i think troops with cell phones would be most disturbed to learn martial law was declared in their home state.
