I don't understand the animosity with basketball anymore. It's clearly indicative of this generations attitude. I grew up watching Michael dominate, transcend, and forever change a game for the best. I'm not going to hate on Kobe or Lebron because they're both great players... but this isn't golf guys. B-Ball is a team sport, and greatness is measured not just by your stats but by the standards to which you elevate your team to immortal greatness. MJ was leader and that's why he'll remain great.

I don't understand the animosity with basketball anymore. It's clearly indicative of this generations attitude. I grew up watching Michael dominate, transcend, and forever change a game for the best. I'm not going to hate on Kobe or Lebron because they're both great players... but this isn't golf guys. B-Ball is a team sport, and greatness is measured not just by your stats but by the standards to which you elevate your team to immortal greatness. MJ was leader and that's why he'll remain great.

@davey9000 uhh no. that gesture was less about Kobe and more about that horrible celtic team. By playing with no passion or pride, that team disrespected their fans, and they reciprocated by cheering on their biggest rivals & their star player, the ultimate show of disrespect.

@outspoken34 regardless, when kobe was dropping 40 a night in the 06, 07 years crowds would start off berating kobe mercilessly but at the end of the night they were chanting his name.

@davey9000 That was true (in some cases), but there weren't too many instances where MJ had to "win over" a crowd of basketball fans, partly because he was the main attraction 90% of the time. Madison Square Garden, Boston Garden, The Palace, Market Square, didn't matter. He wasn't always liked, but opposing fans respected/feared him more than probably any other player in the history of this league.

Lebron James will never be close to what Jordan has accomplished so no one can even compare the 2 because Jordan is way above James. James shouldn't be called the king he doesn't deserve that title.
