If you people in San Marcos cannot keep from your pets being chipped? What you think you are going to do- about chips for people? I live in Washington State, in a small town called Mukilteo; where they have tried to make recently Ticket Cameras something of a mandatory ordeal. Council tried to annul the people and do what San Marcos council did. My small community took the liars to the brink, the city tried to sue indirectly the people. We forced an Initiative ballot.

this law is stupid, i'm a pet owner. on our property there are 5 donkeys, 3 cats, 2 dogs, and last but not least 3 fish, all "animals"? I can understand a dog that runs off being chipped, p.s. sometimes we keep horses too, so should we chip them? criminals could use this to see what properties don't have a dog? stupid idea

I don't understand the fear of this technology. Admitedly, I agree it should be optional, but the future of this could make our lives so much easier. Imagine being able to leave home, pay for public transport or parking, go shopping etc without a wallet or keys... Go surfing and wonder what to do with your electronic car keys... On the other hand "big brother is watching" - what happens if it's possible to trace the last place your stolen goods or lost pets were sensed?

There is already talk of people saying "Well, We chips our dogs already so why not our kids." By the way a few dogs have died of cancer from the chip.
