I wish they bring back DOUBLE DARE and make it 01 hour. more smile, same style, bring back the original set (but in the way people can feel it) and for the timer. Have it on the top pole and turn around when physical challenge is in progress but not the one they had for DD2K. I didnt like how it exploded when it hit 00. Plus, intro, mixers of double dare clips and teh COURSE- 08 course in 65 seconds. anyone agrees?

Has anyone ever noticed throughout the shows history that anyone who usually wins it extremely big on their own game (Golden Road, Triple Play, etc), they never make it to the Showcase Showdown? Atleast that's what I noticed.

Now let's take this person for example. She won $80,000 in prizes in 5 minutes. Imagine if she took that to the Showcase Showdown and won it (or better yet, both). Wonder why such things never happen that way?

Maybe it has happened (in which case I take back what I said), I just never seen it. Basically, they would get out-spun at the Big Wheel, thus ending it for them at that point.

Wait, I know, Showcase Showdown = Big Wheel LOL, can't believe I forgot that. I mean the big Showcase. I've always referred to it as the Big Wheel, and to think I've watched the show alot.

Still my point does stand, why is it we never see anyone who wins massively big make it all the way to the final Showcase?

I thought it was going to be more than $80,000 worth of cars until I noticed the $16,000 tag. I added it all up and it's still a pretty impressive total of $78,519 worth of cars. I just showed this to my mom too, and she just gaped.

On January 2, 2012, Price Is Right will hold its first ever Celebrity Week, where Celebrities will join along with the Contestants to Come on Down. Stars like Ryan Stiles (Drew Carey's friend from his previous show Whose Line), Greg Proops, Wayne Brady, and much more will be featured and they'll be playing for charities and contestants will be playing for cash and prizes.

Dumb question here, but since when did they go back to the three strike chips on " three strikes " ?? I thought the whole idea was to only have one strike chip so that the contestant had a better shot of picking numbers for the car.

This may be the first time in many years that we got a closeup of the Race Game clock; I didn't know that they painted a black square around it (maybe to allow the cameras more room for error when shooting it?). I had always thought they made the window for the timer bigger.

I don't think that would work, unless the 4th car would be worth over $50,000, and the other 3 would be average cars worth $15,000-$20,000.

More or Less and Step Up could also be played for 4 cars. They could also play Line 'Em Up for four cars.  Instead of using three small prizes, use three other cars. Of course that would make the game MUCH, MUCH harder.since you have to price the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th digits with five choices of numbers each.

i agree this setup was so easy it was a gimmie plus she won it with 32 seconds left so this goes down in history and in 18th season they played 3 strikes as the 5th game (make your move was 1st played for a car) but the showcases were good (especially the one with the camaro 2LT conv. that cost at least 32,775). one more thing. no special dings were playing when sharon won 4 cars

What a surprise on this 40th season premiere, on the first bid someone got it on the nose, & won four cars on the Race Game(on the first try). And even she can't get all the prices match, she could win either one or two cars, unlike Triple Play, when the game is all or nothing. And that was the first six minutes of the season.

@masonben2011 I think the curtains were changed from last year. I don't remember any gray when I went, but I wasn't particularly looking at the curtains either.

The seats will revert to red after this week for awhile, also, due to tapedates.

@weatherdan882002 Big Wheel: Just about all luck, unless you manage to recognize your spin pattern and control it (which pretty much no one does). :) But yeah, a majority of pricing game greats do get shunned, even spinning last isn't a huge advantage over 1/3.

Seems as though they should have played Danger Price, Take Two, or Shopping Spree. Danger and Spree would have required a bit of a staging change, however, and Take and Spree would have required making room for five digits on their displays, or having Drew keep track of the ten thousands digit in the total of the cars picked. Problem with Race Game for four cars is that someone would get one or two right and decide not to change any more prices and risk ending up with zero right with time up.

@WayoshiM The best loss ever thing is kind of the issue I have with it really. As awesome as it was that she got all 4 like she did, would have been a anti-climatic had she only won 1, 2 or 3. Granted you have had the $5,000-$10,000 (now $10,000-$25,000) dynamic with Punchboard before, but even so.
