  • @luv4todd - Great comment.

I'm a big Todd fan and you're right, you never know what the next song will bring.

I've seen him live with Utopia and solo...he is one of the greats!

  • some ASSHOLE uploaded a number of Todd's live vids and "added" at the end of each this"bit" where a single eye is displayed and a tiny segment line from of Todd's songs that say " i? want to change the world" plays.THIS.. is EXTREMELY misleading in it's implications and i'm sure Todd would be REALLY pissed if he knew that was done.So when you see the described"bit" disregard the misleading inference and realize it was NOT PLACED THERE BY THE TODD MAN HIMSELF but by someone who uploaded the song.

  • Very spinal tap.

  • Todd is real, a Wizard, a True Star. Glad we met. Friend? Nah, just a two time thing....

  • now he makes it with AC/DC

  • you won't find a bigger, yet more critical (outside of the original utopia band, i pretty much hated the utopia years) fan of todd's than me... this toon kikks MAJOR BUTT!!!

  • when you get down to it; it's a bus-sin-ness .got to sell those L. Ps.. getting on those shows is how they get sold. but todd will never sell-out!!

  • Tryin'ta make a living off an elpee's worth of tunes?

  • todd rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

  • his music used to be good what happened?

  • What happened is that the man ROCKS ON !! He's got more talent in his little finger than most "musicians" of the past 30 year, and he's not afriad to take a risk either. A true original !

  • You aged.

  • i'm 17

  • I'd shout "flag" about your comment, if I could take out the 'l', put in a 'u', then substitute 'ck' for 'ag' ...

  • Good for a 60 year old man

  • atta boy todd. rock out!!

  • What was the deal w/Kasim after the song when Dave came over and did the obligatory hand shake & thanks. He walked right by Kaz and shook Rachel's hand. Kaz looked amused but bewildered.

  • I really hate to say this because I've loved Todd for years. This song sound like a reject from a latter day Alice Cooper CD.

  • A reject from Alice Cooper? You must be one of those old folkies that i seen in Sleepy Hollow NY watching his show.Sat there....... couldnt belive what you were hearing and just said.... Im to old for this. Go watch Tony Bennett

  • I'm Todd's age & there's nothing better than head bangin' ROCK N ROLL!! All

this 'talking' rap, & boring, mellow, introspective poor excuse for music that is out there now (like most of what we heard on the 2009 Grammys) has no place in any decent rockers heart! You may be a boring Dave Matthews, Allison Krause, or current Bruce fan (God, he used to rock his ass off & I was his biggest fan--what happened?), but for me, I'll continue to rock--because in this life, you only rock once! GO TODD!

  • no one like him

Most under appreciated overall talent ever in the music industry.

    brilliant

  • amazing performance...courage is my favorite, but i thought doing strike on letterman took major cajones...the band was awesome....loved that todd was doing the townshend swing as well

  • Thanks Ro. Glad you posted so quickly!

  • There is no musician alive who couldn't learn something from this musical genius, and there has never been a musician who can wear so many different hats as well as Todd. Is there anything musically that he cannot do? I do not follow Todd's career like I once did, but I have never heard anyone else who can do all the things Todd is so good at doing.

  • absolutely. absolutely. he is lightyears beyond.

    he has nothing to prove.

  • This CD has gotten very good press in the UK during the UK leg of the tour. See the Todd Rundgren connection for a view of the articles. Alas far to little buzz in the US. (Par) Arena deserves much more attention than it will ever get. I can`t even get any of my area stations to play ANY Todd Rundgren let alone a track from Arena. They don`t want to take away any airtime that could be used to play Gwen P`s husband over & over & over & over & over............

  • Can't believe Prairie is 58!! The Tubes (and more recently Todd) have been such a huge part of my life for so many years....

Did you notice right before the bridge in this song when Todd tried to knock Rachel's wig off (she shook it off shortly afterwards)...

  • It's a hoodie, not a wig..

  • Now that i look more closely..... yep, definitely not a wig. But not a hoodie, either. A hood, yes, but not a hoodie. A hoodie is a separate piece of clothing. Her hood is part of the overall garment.

Since Rachel is playing bass, is Kasim playing guitar?

  • Hood or Hoodie, same thing to me *LOL*

Well Kaz is on the tour so yeah, that's him.. Can't miss that "stance" he always has *LOL*

  • I was at the show later this same night in Sellersville, PA. In spite the hectic travel to get from Letterman to the theatre, a late start, and minor finger abrasions (those windmills can really chew up your hands, right Todd?), the band was on fire. And with no sound check!!! I've been to more shows than I can count since 1973 and it was great to see him kick ass in this lineup. His voice has never been better, his playing is solid and the band... just outstanding.

  • Good review!

Are you planning to attend TODDNYE?

  • after over 40 years of performing, tr is the most relevant artist remaining from his generation, hopefully this exposure will bring in new fans from the current generation

  • Todd is still God

  • let me just say i love todd and the tour concert was AWESOME.

guess i was just disappointed. shit happens. i just read the comment about Kasim's statement about the choice of songs.

  • why in the world would he play STRIKE? It was hoarse YELLING. and the backup vocals were so lackluster. sigh.

    that stupid hood.

Arena is my current favorite album, i saw the concert tour, i am a fan till the end.

can someone elaborate on the choice of songs? The Late Show picked it???

  • Kasim explained in an interview a few weeks ago that the Late Show was going to decide which song to do.

I would have liked a different song too.

  • please watch Prairie...... awesome

  • another GREAT performance from the master!

THANKS for posting in HQ so quickly

  • Thank you very, very Dutch for posting this video so quick. Great performance. Overhere we are still in the Todd-Arena-flow. Saw the superb gig in Norwich UK. Greetings from the Netherlands!

  • Foamy was already at the show last night...I have picture proof!

  • Thanks for this! When I heard what song they picked for him, I didn't stay up for the show.

  • Fabulous! Todd is the ultimate performer!

  • Dave's remarks after the song are too funny: "Todd is reminding us to strike ..... strike while the iron's hot."

  • yes, that is HILARIOUS!

  • I miss not seeing Matt Bolton....

  • I was surprised that the Late Show picked this song for Todd to play. I was thinking "Courage".

Did you notice Todd knocking off Rachel's hoodie during the bridge section?

Todd's guitar work was excellent, too!

    Thanks for posting!

  • What? The show picked the song Todd played? Does Dave & crew pick songs for all musical guests? How does that work? BTW: Strike would not have been my first choice of tunes to do off of the new album.

  • no, todd picked it as strike is the UK single, regardless of your choice.

  • Thanks--Truly the return of the Heavy Metal Kid!

  • According to Kasim Sulton (as heard in an interview on RundgrenRadio last week), the LateShow staff listens to every song on an album, and then decides what the performer will play or sing.

Kasim himself asked Todd (after the last show in the UK) "what song are you gonna play on Letterman?" Todd answered, "How the hell do I know?" YIKES!

Anyway, that's what I heard. Todd may have made the ultimate decision.

  • Strange. Regardless of what they played, the band is WAY tighter with Kasim onboard and a lot more dates under their belts. Can't wait to see the Boulder Theater show on HDNet on Jan. 11. That show was recorded on July 14 and was great, great fun. But I understand now Todd wishing that they could have recorded a later show. They were smokin' last night.

  • Great to see Todd Rocking out. And where's Foamy!

    Peace,EDDY.

  • Foamy was probably over at the gig scheduled for later that night. In fact, it appears the whole band is using second string gear.

Todd bought the Ibanez he is playing in Austin Texas, during the ARENA stop down there last July.

  • Thanks for grabbing this. Excellence!
