I'm not sure what you mean here. Linux is from the back-end to the Desktop. It is all free, and a great deal of fun to deal with. There is a great opensource Community out there.

Well, Linux is a decsendant of UNIX and if you reverse engineer MacOS, it's UNIX based. I think Linux is a great OS. I love MacOs as well, even with that... nothing is more stable than UNIX. To answer your question about what MAC guys can do...we can do quite a bit. Linux users have many unicorns though...one of those being Photoshop. You can probably use Wine HQ. But most of the general human population won't know what that is. I like the fact that UNIX, Linux & Mac have such a small base.
Heh.. not sure why you responded again so much later, but just to let you know: Mint is still my distro. I've been thru a few others in the meantime just to give them a try, but eventually ended up w/ Mint in the end again. Currently running Elyssa & have all&everything up and running perfectly.
My 13yr old daughter uses Mint since about 1 yr and has become quite a gimp-pro! :)

I find it difficult to use as a complete noob to linux,to install flash was too difficult for me. Any tips where I can learn to use this stuff?

Still haven't gotten the 3DDesktop to work. My laptop/graphic card isn't a big fan of it. But I also haven't put too much time in it yet..
