The solo part is fullof duoble stops double nots and long scales and arpeggi how can anyone hear them when orch part is so full and loud.Oist,Szeryg,Heif,Kremer,so many how do they do it.
In case others are wondering what you said, here is the translation: "Does anyone know what is the name of this orchestra? Kyung has considerable (noticeable) strength. Surely this is a Korean Orchestra... a very good one in fact. They capture the spirit of Western Music remarkably well."
Alguién sabe cuál es el nombre de ésta orquesta? Kyung tiene una fuerza notable. Seguramente se trata de una orquesta Coreana...muy buena por cierto. captan el espíritu de la música occidental de manera asomborsa.
Wow. never heard of this woman. But an exceptional brahms concerto. Her sec subject not my type . but she has stylistic ideas at 2:03 on powerful and Brahmsian . Whose cadenza is this?
Fine playing...but dreadfully slow. Also, imo, you can definitely tell the difference between Lee and someone like Oistrakh. Her phrasing seems to be more of a 2-3 measure phrase rather than long lyrical phrases.
I'm not bashing. Great player in her own right and wonderful teacher. Just not my cup of tea (in terms of musicality and tempo).
I'd like to go ahead and disagree with you and say that her phrases are more than 3 measures at a time. And of course Oistrakh is a completely different performer; he was a Strad man. Everyone may think there are flaws in her playing but it truly is the quality of the sound and video that distorts what is really being played.
I wouldn't know about the video quality and sound...and i've taken a couple of lessons with her @Oberlin (she's a wonderful teacher), and from what she's taught me about phrasing, it seems that she likes to enunciate little phrases every 3-4 bars (kind of like focusing on some of the slight subtle nuances of the piece rather than the long drawn out "stereotypical" phrasings considered with brahms)
I have to say you are quite correct. I have a CD of her playing the same concert and she sounds much better than the vid although I still think she is amazing here.
wow, thats great!! i love this concerto. there are some little intonation problems, but her expression is fantastic! by whom is this cadenza?? is it her own? and who is conducting?
Hi, Thanks for the comment. According to her, the cadenza is written by Fritz Kreisler. The conductor's name is Yoon Sung Chang. He resides in South Korea.

I believe it is the "Korean Symphony Orchestra".
Thank you for the kind comment.

Ja. I heard this version at the Kreisler international violin competition. In this competition the participants must play this version, I think.
