  • Oh, and for not having the gear reduction that is normally needed for this kind of rock-crawling, he did one hell of a good job! Awesome!

  • Nice to see a Wagoneer done up, son't see much of them now days.

  • big grippy tires, low center gravity, slow and in control thumbs up . awesome build!

  • cant tell if i like the rig...can anyone give me more technical feedback on the chopped back before i do mine? thanks

  • i would love to dd that jeep XD

  • Epic Jeep! plus some good damn driving one of the best jeep vids i watched Good job

  • where were you guys wheeling at?

  • what song is it

  • what size lift do u have

  • @TheLucky12345678910 It's not mine, I have no idea but considering those are 39's I would guess 10"+...it was all home made.

  • i would do such naughty things to that jeep!

  • omg! that is an amazing build man! i just fell in love :) i'm still in shock...congrats on the expert build!

  • WOW nice rig! i don't think i'd be able to do one like yours, i know nothing about lifts. when i get an xj (probably around spring, maybe sooner) i want to start out with a 3 inch lift on it. Is it hard to install for someone with no experience, but has a brain and has worked on cars? But knows nothing about suspesion?

  • @Declipse16 Don´t worry about cherokee´s suspension, lift kits are preety simple to install, just be sure to get enough WD-40 for those rusty pieces, and be careful with " Death wobble ", it appears when you upgrade these kind of suspensions, just be sure that all tie-rod ends are in perfect shape and the track bar too, good luck!

  • @kymlihu1 thank you for your help i appreciate it! I'm so excited to get an xj i don't wanna wait!

  • @Declipse16 Right on, someone with a brain and who has worked on vehicles should have no problems, the XJ suspension is pretty basic and old school...Just start oil soaking all the old rusted pieces now, lifting a Jeep, the biggest trouble you will run into is getting the old rusted components off, also, use ratchet straps or something to hold your axle in place when you remove control arms, it can be a fight to pull it back into place if not...Best of luck!!

    Cheers!

    Jeff

  • @PirateJeep Thanks! I will remember this when get an xj and install a lift, i appreciate your help!

  • @PirateJeep If you want a real man's Cherokee, then you get an XJ or an old SJ; if you are an old woman looking for comfort, then you get a Grand Cherokee! Nice song, by the way.

  • i like your rig and it is a big xj i have a zj but have not got to put it to the test yet keep up the wheeling and posting your vids

  • bad ass ride

  • bad ass rid

  • AMAZING!!!

  • What engine does he have in it? Is it the 4.0 I6? Nice jeep that Rock Garden looks real fun!!

  • Depends on the mood man. sometimes these idiots get to me, besides I'm proud of our peaceful country and I will stand up when someone insults it!

It's the American media that always refers to things as the American way and I've heard so many times it being said that "owning a gun is an American right". My bad if I offended you.

    Cheers!

    Jeff

  • Ya there are a lot of rookie vids where people need to lower their pressure, but look at his rig.... He's not a ROOKIE! obviously he will know how to manage his tires!

GREAT VID! nice rig! good driving!

  • thanks man...some ppl are real know it all fools!

    Cheers!

  • do those lights get in ur way. i got a 2001 xj and that thing is hard to see whats below at times

  • @mvbartel

Air down?? what is that?? lol

I don't know what Dave is running but I assure you it is no more than 5 to 10 lbs at the very most...it is very hard to tell in videos if a person is aired down, I get these stupid comments all the time, it gets annoying!

  • please, if he aired down to 10 psi, his tires would look flat. not to mention, he doesnt have bead locks. with out bead locks, at 10 psi his bead would pop right off...

  • Pleeeease!! lol

Just out of curiousity, what would you air down to??

I run 5 psi in my tires when I rock crawl and 8 on any other trail with NO beadlocks and yet to pop a bead. At 10 lbs my tire wouldn't even bulge on the sides.

  • WOW....what kind of tires are you running is all i want to know....10psi and no bulge in the tire....thats some thick ass sidewalls

  • @D1CK3M

37x12.5 Maxxis Creepy Crawlers ...sidewalls are close to an inch thick.

  • agreed with privatejeep there no shame in wheeling on private land virgin forest is the best wheeling out there

  • Love it. Where did you get the Brush guard?

  • impressed with what the vehicle and driver can do... just a shame that you didn't stay on an established trail - but busted up a bunch of virgin forest. Shame on you!

  • No shame, it's a big off-road event on private land!

  • the tracks left in virgin forest will be 100% gone in a year, whereas a trail is always there and always tore up and ugly...not to mention it was a "go anywhere challenge" go ANYWHERE...not go on a trail challenge

  • I love how he made his own hummer, lol! I'm currently making my own "Mini H3 Cherokee" emblems included.

  • You're an idiot. A jeep is far more of an offroad vehicle then a shitty hummer could ever WISH of being.

  • Stock Jeep > Any Hummer

  • It's OK, I love my Jeep && My haters too. I know what Hummers are, I'm not the moron you think I am, it's called making fun of them, in case you're incompetent. Which I'm making the assumption you are.

  • i like the chop top :]

dont have the balls to do it to my XJ quite yet

  • Ha you should see my 84 yota

    nice crawler

  • that was a comment from my dad. lol srry. but u sould at least put it in desc. so that ppl no that.

  • I've been wheelin longer than you've been alive and it's ass holes like you that go off the trail and run over the foliage and get the trails closed, nice jeep but you are a DICK!!!

  • That's a pretty ignorant comment considering you have no idea where we are wheeling and not knowing that we are on private land at a BIG off-road event, especially for a grown man that's 42 and his favorite hobby is "Lego", his favorite movie is "Pokemon",

BTW, I'm two years older than you and twice as mature!

    So, who's the asshole DICK?!?!?!

  • Nice burn!

  • My apologies for hubby. See, all of our wheeling trails ( Rubicon in particular)are in danger of being closed due to people ignoring the rules, mainly young twenty somethings that don't think the rules apply to them. You r lucky to have some private land to have such fun on. We are slowly losing all our rock crawling here in California, and hubby made the wrong assumption. Again, sorry, and KEEP WHEELIN!

  • Almost all of our trails on the East coast are shut down. Its really sad. But you drive around and there are hundreds of neighborhoods that are not completed. They take the land and destroy it.

  • i dont even live on the east coast moron

  • Ya, well it's ass holes like you who tear down ALL the foilage and build neighborhoods. Who is the real killer? Hypocrite!!!

  • Before opening your mouth and making yourself look like a complete idiot, maybe you should ask what I do for a living, little boy!

  • You draw stick figurines. wooo

  • i also want to add, moss is hella hard to drive on and get traction, he did a great job!

  • what mpg you get with those tires?

    sick ride bro!

  • no shit xmodhowto

  • by any chance is the jeep from sheppard air force base

  • Nope, Nova Scotia, Canada :)

  • Would a cherokee be a good first car?

  • Yes! Cherokee's are cheap and parts are a dime a dozen!

  • that is A very sick jeep....how did he get the back cut off like that?

  • he cut it off.....

  • no shit

  • awesome xj and video great song

  • sweet xj! have fun wheelin fellas, need a v8 tho, Im doin a 350 swap into mine as we speak, will be posting how to's when im done, watch for it, should be a sick xj when done...

  • sick xj bro i wish mine looked like that

  • your xj rocks,jeeps rule

  • Most XJ's have a straight 6...Not sure what this dude is running but that's my guess.

  • They all have straight six's except for this jeep which I'm guessing it has or at least had an AMC v6 as the first xj adapted from the wagoneer platform did. A straight 4cyl is also available although not very common. This guy probably swapped his amc out for a newer I6 design as most guys do for both power and reliability.

  • what engine does the xj have???

  • Comment removed

  • Gnarly setup.

  • Does anyone with sense know where this is???

  • Yes, I do!

  • That chick has a got a nice rack.

  • hahah they got you!!

  • you are right about that

  • @mudbone80 Damn I failed the gay test! lol Good eyes.

  • can some one please tell me the process in which you can do the open back on the jeep cuz I have the same jeep lifted an all, just haven't done the back space remodel yet

  • what song> and awesome vid ? thats in bc right i thk ive been there?

  • Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down.

The vid was actually shot on the other coast in Nova Scotia.

    Cheers!

    Jeff

  • Looks like a great built XJ...

BTW, I have 4 inches of lift and 35's on mine.... For now....

  • that loojks like costal bc,where were you guys doing this?

  • 4.5 is the biggest lift you can get even with that you need wider flares to fit 33's on their but over 4.5 you need a couple more components that will run you about another 500 bucks, but its worth it.

  • u don't know much about lifts

  • maybe not just some things someone mention to me when i went from 4 1/2 to 6 i had to get a new Slip Yoke Eliminator and drive shaft

  • not the biggest

  • what the biggest lift you can get without messing without any body mods on a 98 XJ?

  • more like a rock garden.......lol nice video 5/5

  • Can't wait for my 4.5 inch lift...

  • i can´t wait for my 8 inch lift!!! xD

  • makin' it look easy!

  • The chick at 1:23 is hott!

  • Climbing those rocks!

  • That XJ is humongous.. love it.

  • seriously impressive. thumbs up.

  • siiick nastyyy!

  • very cool!! i want my jeepy to look like that!

  • stupits

  • if you're gonna go with 33's then yes you should regear it. if you try to take it on the highway it'll kill you're gas mileage and you'll run way too high. you've got 3.07's in it right now. i would go up to 3.55's or maybe even 3.85's just to cover your ass.

  • Jeeprock3 you should be fine with a stock motor i have a 88 xj and its got a 4.5in lift with 31x12.50 super swamper TSL radials and all i have is a header and K&N filter

  • Hi there , nice vid , i just have a question i have a jeep xj 4.0 6 cylinder stock,

was wondering if i just bought a lift kit say 4 inch suspension and 32-33 inch tires would i need to do any regearing of my axles or "beef" them up? and is there anything else i should be concerned about? your help would be great, thanks

  • Depending on whether you have a manual transmission and what year your jeep is you have either 3.07's or 3.55's. The 3.55's arent bad with 31's at all, and I have ran both 32's and 33's with stock gearing. (Mine has 3.55's) as said below it will hurt your gas mileage, but other than that it is manageable. I actually managed to get my mileage up to 22 HWY with 33's and stock gears simply by drafting 18-wheelers, when I would usually get 12. So just drive smart.

  • That jeep is a-fucking-mazing. I love it. I've got an xj myself, though its nothing close to this bad boy.

  • kick ass jeep and song=D

  • nice jeep

  • Sweet Vid., Kewl XJ, and them green titties weren't bad either. :)

  • As a ture XJ lover I've gotta say... you're Jeep is a work of art!! Everyone needs to quit worrying about whats too big or too small, and just get out there and drive...

  • badass xj you got there i am putting some dana 60's under mine right now!

  • holy shit this thing is so modded out you can hardly tell what kind of car it is...nice...

  • Your Iroks are 42's right ?

  • how can a jeep be too big??? i have an 8 inch long arm with 35s and i love it. what are you running?

  • hey dude what size does that xj have on it because that thing is sweet

  • just crawls over that shit...nice

  • "Go anywhere Challenge Anything" Jeep gotta love em. Awesome vid.

  • Pure KRAZY! Those people in the background seem to have a harder time getting around than your rig...very nice!

  • dude, ur jeep is cool and all but its too big.. its not as much of a challenge... i do this stuff and more with an xj with 32s and 5.5 lift... pin up a more hard core video

  • Why do you have a 5.5 inch lift to run 32's? Not necessary. I ran 32's on my XJ with a 3" lift and I'm about to be running 35's on a 4'5" lift. Don't talk about peoples rigs being too big when yours is too big for it's own tire size.

  • lol good luck i have a 6.5 inch lift and 35s and i caved my feners in offroading

  • how are you running 35's with a 4'5"? isnt that allitle too much tire for the lift? i have the rustys 8" long arm kit with 35's and that is decent.

  • x2 ...

  • Its really not as drastic as it sounds. Think about it like this the 4.5" kit recommends a 32" tire, and a 35" is only 3" taller. Only 1.5" of that are on the upper side interfering with the fenders, so you simply cut 1.5" of sheetmetal away and you're good to go. (Granted you still have the correct bumpstops for your lift size, without those you will rub no matter what size tire you run.)

  • it all depends on how much body modification you want to do, some people are not fans of cutting out their fenders

  • Those are 42's and they are at half way or better swallowed by those boulders...your 32's would be swallowed , and 90% of your day would be spent stacking rocks ...LOL

  • Dude, you mus be a rock star!!!...we had a couple XJ's on 33's and 35's there this year that couldn't even get to this part of the trail...btw, it's not my Jeep in the vid but you won't get in there without atleast 35's...it would get trashed, I would certainly attempt it but I'm nutz!(after wheeling my TJ on 33's for 3 years it's taking a year to rebuild...lol)

  • Great driving!

  • Love the flex.

  • is he still runnin the 4.0l

  • Yepp!

  • AWESOME

  • Thanks, Poppytoontown!!

  • Spettacolare...!!!!

  • Superman by 3 Doors Down

  • Please, tell me the name of the song!

  • that xj us a strait fucking beast, i like the cut out in the back, i wana do this to my 2 door and put in a roll cage

  • that is one sweet xj. I really like the chopped top.

  • fucking SICK YOU OWN

  • i thought i was the only one that liked drifting and crawling

  • hahaha nope your not the only one dude

  • LOVE the XJ !! What I wouldn't give to do some mods like that to my '97 XJ !!!

  • Nice Video! And nice XJ!

  • WOW THATS IMPRESSIVE!!!!
