This woman is absolutely hilarious. She clearly thinks she's highly intelligent but in fact comes across as an utter moron. No one is saying that the EU and the USSR are exactly the same or that there are gulags, simply that there are certain similarites, which there are.
@Seano71 lisbon treaty. people were misinformed. once people knew the fucking treaty they voted yes. its all due to lack of information of the eu to the citizens. people voted no because they thought the lisbon treaty was a blueprint for european superstate. now 2 years into the lisbon treaty era where is this dictatorship you people keep on yapping about.
All i heard from you during the lisbon treaty was that this was a "hidden" constitution.
The EU isn't undemocratic? Who elected the EU Commissars? Why is that the Commissars, some of whom have been prosecuted for fraud, corruption, and lying, are deciding for every little thing in the EU? Not to mention that multiculturalisation and islamisation of Europe, both of which are advocated and aided by the EU.
But what else would you expect from the EU when it's run by the morally corrupt French and Germans...
I will say that the Islamisation will be the end. I can't imagine a world where Ethnic Germans are a minority in Germany. It it German soil that shall remain German and Christian.
I agree that the French are immoral. But the Germans are not. Maybe Germany could not have been ain such a mess if UN and the USSR didn't treat it like dirt and gave back territories like Prussia to remind Germany of its heritage.
to understand the true nature of the corruption be minded of the origins of the word France of the Germanno Frankish tribes - then note Mitterand, Barbie & others were Vicchy Government supporting Nazi Germany.
Then read the Treaty of Elysee signed by Adanaur & DeGaulle at The Elysee Palace AND the following day on the High Altar steps of Rheims Cathedral.
Note it agrees that France & Germany will meet BEFORE IGCs to 'approve' what is on the agenda.
@laegunum it has a democratic deficit because its not a nation state??? the UN isnt democratic either. If EU were to become fully democratic it would have to become a federation.
@FcK2420 The EU is to become a single state with the breakup of nation states into regions. 100's of little piggies all trying to suck on the great teats of Brussels. Of course Brussels will need more feeding so next move EU direct taxation.
You are right, the EU is NOTHING AT ALL like the USSR. The European Union encourages greater commerce among member nations and restricts monopolies. It started out as an idea for nations to save money, for example if the Dutch wanted coal, they wouldn't have to excavate with such costly procedures, they could just import it at a much cheaper price from Germany than they would if they had to mine it...in a geologically sensitive area, since much of Holland is below sea level.
Why does she feel the need to defend the EU, is it because like all Europhiles she knows that they have got this far without the permission of the people, and every time they give the people a say they say NO. She is defending the indefencible, once countries give their people their say and the majority agree to commence on the Grand Project we can all get behind it, if not it is a lame duck, and will die like one.
I think because very very few people know what the EU is really about or realise the good it's done in the past 50+ years.
Why would you want to leave something that has created so much trade, the longest length of peace and what gives you so much feedom and rights and security over the whole of the EU.
There's very little real reason to leave it. Pure democracy is not best. Thats why you voted in people to make these decisions for you.
The EU was formed with out the permission of the people it is supposedly for. It has been formed not of their accord or with their permission. When ever the issue of giving up national sovereignty to the EU has been put to the people every nation given that opportunity have said no! The people who desire the EU are politicians, big business, the media, and the minority of fools who follow the media lies. It is power for the elite from the elite by the elite over the people!
Since when did the media speak fondly of the EU? Flawed arguement,
You could say the same about many govermental establishment. Who voted for Westminster to govern the entire UK. The Scots have certainly not had their referndum. You could say the same about the Monarchy also.
Give me one good reason how the EU affects you in a bad way, and I'll give you 5 advantages.
The problem with the eu and the ec is that they are deeply corrupt; why wont they publish their accounts? The Gulag exists in the form of diversity and political correctness. We have labour camps but unlike the U.S.S.R. they are not goverment run, so you wont hear much about them, but they are here in the form of sweatshops and people trafficking. Following the introduction of the euro strict economic rules were introduced and then ignored by France and Germany. The eu is doomed to failure.
why did thows people die in the first and second world wars die for in Great Britian and if you did your reserch you will find the politions have been wrongly giving away power to Brussels and did you know that 75% of British laws are now made in Brussels and not westminster witch is what the capital is of Britian i mean why did all thows people die for

If the British Government is following their Bill of Rights...that would be more than what the American government does, which seems to never miss an opportunity to outright violate them!
But its true. The eu is the new USSR and the fact that so many here in russia suffered under socialist policy is one of many reasons why russia will never join the EU.
Again - there is a night and day difference b/t the EU and USSR. It is either crackpot or ignorance to state that. As I said, where are the labor camps and gulags?
Human rights, human dignity, the rule of law, and social market capitalism are all respected in the EU. Also, the EU is for peaceful relations, (as in the Russia-Georgia conflict) while the Soviet system was aggressive and violent. Again, believing in the EU=USSR is absolute crackpot rubbish in light of the Community founders...
It's not true, It's absolutely nothing like the USSR.
LOL, All of Europes nations are Capitalistic with free open markets. Only difference to the USA is that is has a well run and managed Wellfare state. It ensures compition by preventing too big a manopoly of companies.
The USSR was Comunist, with a controlled central economy that dictated what money you got, housing, etc. EU's nothing like that.
The EU is an anti-democrat fascist organisation who takes away sovereignity of whole nations. The EU has been complete dishonest about it's goals all the time. It's not even the USSR, the EU is worse.
The sooner dystopia EU will collapse, the better it is! I want the freedom and sovereignity of my country back! And if we have to fight for it...so be it!
@marsnr1 It is NOT undemocratic. I've voted in EU elections, There's over 700 directly elected MEP's. The commission is made from representatives from democratic governments, which are effectively the administrators for the parliament.
The EU has been dishonest? EU is worse than the USSR? Enlighten me and the rest of the world.
Your country can walk away from the EU any time it wants. It's in the Lisbon treaty..
Please don't reply with tabloid head liners, it's just too easy...
Democracy is the system where sovereign states can rule themselves. The EU is against that system. You're no longer ruled by your own people, your ruled by other countries. Your veto is gone, you have nothing to stop any law coming from Brussel.
The plan was always to replace sovereign states by the EU, the euro was never pure about a comman coin, it was about getting political power to Brussel
I don't know the Engish word but "nations" are based upon something. Democracy can only work in nation states. That's why Belgium is such a failed country, and the EU want to make all Europe into one big Belgium.
Leaving the EU? You know that the deathpenalty is back in the Lisbon treaty and revolution against the EU is punishable by deah? The European High Court even considers criticizing the EU as a system an act of blasphemy.... it's punishable.
@marsnr1 That is such a miss-interpretation of Article 2 of Protocol No 6 that it doesn't even deserve a reply. But I'll give you one.
It does not bring back any death penalty. It prevents states from having the death penalty in any case with the only exception of allowing a state to implement measures, SHOULD IT WANT TO - ITS NOT FORCED TO, should the use of force be absolutely necessary in defence of someone, in escape of a lawfully arrested person, or in the case of a insurrection/riot.
@marsnr1 Have you evidence of such plan? If the Euro was never about a common coin, then what was it about? The states can still rule themselves. The main reason for the EU SLIPSTREAMING each nations laws is because most states have broadly similar laws, but slightly differing causing upheaval for EU wide trade.
Again, nations can leave when they want.
P.S. If laws passed by democratically elected MEPs isn't democratic, then what is??
The EU parlement has nothing to do with democracy, it's also about taking power away from your own parliament and steadily replacing it. It would have been more democratic if your own parliament would vote about EU issues, there is no need at all for any EU parliament. But it all has to do with taking power away from sovereign states and useful idiots who believe in utopia's.
@marsnr1 No, it would not be more democratic for your national parliament to vote on issues. Many nations are amalgamations of other nations (Look at the UK for example), and governments of larger countries would carry heavier weight than other Governments. For instance, Scotland would never have a voice at all if it's interests conflicted with the rest of the UK's as the UK is represented solely by one Government. But, MEP's answerable to EU populations would be less inclined to.... (1/2)
@marsnr1 (2/2) back their governments should their populations think differently.
Again, there is need for an EU parliament. Who would debate EU wide topics? Regional Governments? How many people would represent each Government as each represents a different sized population? say, 1 per million people? So, then you have 700 people representing the population of the EU, that's effectively a parliament! How else would you fairly do this while preventing bullying of smaller states.
You're calling the parlements of sovereign nations "regional" governments? Countries who always fought for their independence and their freedom are reduced to regional governments? We dont'want to be colonized by some totalitarian dystopia, we want our freedom back.
Europe is not one, and that is the strength of Europe.
We the Dutch don't want to be ruled by Germans, French of Britains. This fake parliament doesn't represent anyone or anything.
You don't understand what democracy is at all, democracy is all to do with nation states. Look at Belgium, look at Nigeria, look at Iraq. Democracy will not function without nation stations. You're repeating typical socialistic nonsense about a world where there are no longer allowed any difference between people, cultures and nations. A world where humans cease to be humans, a socialistic world. Read some books: This Perfect Day by Ira Levin for example.
I don't like the EU economy because it has a socialist capitalism,so it can never be like USA(the land of all opportunities) that has a true capitalism...best examples are the french and sweds + this form of EU capitalism creates more corruption than the US capitalism,so its shitty :\ but I guess not everything that works in the US can work elsewhere..
The only difference with the US is good state run healthcare/social security.
1) You are not supposed to drop below a minimum level of existence, where you'd die of hunger, poverty or disease, just cause you can't provide for food, housing or medication.
2) You can get as filthy rich in the EU as you like. True capitalism!
In the US people are sleeping under bridges and eating out of garbage cans. The welfare stipend does not pay enough for housing and food stamps cannot go far enough.
I agree that European nations have minimun stet levels ... but that is not the case in the US. The state governments set the levels of assistence.
You shouldn't lower yourself to the level of these claims by making funny voices, it takes away from message. The entire notion is so ludicrous to begin that I don't think it even deserves to be addressed.

Anyway, it's nice to see someone speaking up for The EU. Keep it up.
It's funny and a joke to believe in such a thing...
With regard to the Lisbon treaty, those that believe in the "no" vote appear to be intellectully lazy and didn't want to click on links -- and even read. These people ignore arguments, as the can't make their own.
It is a FACT that the majority of "no" voters didn't know about the Treaty
They are such smart people, these defenders of the "no," that they resort to name calling and insults.
After studying the intentions of the founders of the Community, their thoughts and intentions through out the years - and then there are uneducated people that believe that they "have the truth" about the EU.
It's like talking to people suffering from delusional mental illness in that they refuse to hear the truth that the "voices they hear and not there" and it becomes like talk to a wall...
