Also, whilst a Vaio looks more bling, it also looks more enticing for thieves, screaming "Look at me, I'm an expensive laptop", whereas HP's often look fairly anonymous..

No. I'm pointing out that if price is not a concern and you want stylish...then a Macbook Pro is much better in terms of build, quality and ease of use.

But if you want a true power laptop, there are other manufacturers offering up some serious components for a lot less than Sony.

i've had this laptop for almost a year now.

the battery life is in no way near 4 hours. at most, i'd say 2 (and i have it set to power saver).

also, i encountered some problems in the beginning with pre-installed sony software not being compatible with itunes... uninstalled all the sony bulk and everything has been fine since.

to be honest. I would probably go with the 15" macbook over thr z series just because of price difference.. But either way both aren't in my budget. I would recommend either the fw series or the AW series if you want a desktop replacement for an amazing deal. (FW). But what I've noticed recently is how people are really liking the ultra portable pc market (netbooks). If you crave portability and don't care to much about pc power. you might want to check those out to.
