  • Awesome song. It has some old school track scene sound in there, or so I hear. Love it.

  • How much does the Handsonic cost?

  • Hey, cool!

    Wie kannst du damit scratchen?

  • i like it, its relaxing and sound good, good job

  • dude i listen to this everyday since ive found it.....but tell me did you come up with the bass line or did you sample it....anyways...you have to be a genius to put all that together even if it sampled

  • hey i really like youre stuff..i will subscribe...but just out of curiosity you pretty much only use samples right...cause i see you pressing one note...and i hear a " chord " coming out of it..loll

  • @willdill yes ! I love sampling. Fortunately for your ears, I don't play piano chords, I'm terrible at it.

  • @williamlamy anyways that song is amazing ..im surprised you dont have some type of record deal going on..then again ...record deals dont get handed out to real music!!!

  • I really like your music! How's Axiom 25? Seeing your performance makes me want to get it as well!

  • very inspiring! whoever gave this a thumbs down must be deaf because this shit is miraculous!

  • sounds like Art Of Noise

  • when you've learned to play drums then you know that those midi music is nothing else then rhythmic

  • you make some great music

  • excellent! you have a future..

  • handsonic rules :) Respect for your creation, we'll meet on myspace soon:)

  • Amazing, Simply Amazing, Good Job.

  • sik!!

  • Would you suggest Reason of Ableton 7 for use of the Midi ONLY?.. It's the same mid-model that you have.

  • sorry, not "of".. over

  • I would suggest both. they are very different with different capabilities but can be used together very easy with great effect.

  • use mixcraft fl sutdio or reason.......proaly mixcraft

  • do you play live with this setup?

  • I did, now I play drums and electronic drum pads on it. Look at the video response.

  • hey.. does reason have the sounds necessary for making rock/alternative/pop/synth?

  • Yes, Reason has a nice factory sound bank to start with.

  • Sounds little like Boards Of Canada to me.

    I love it !

  • Nice song Willbe,i love the section with the strings, best part of the song,no doubt! I used reason for a few years,i miss it,its a such versatile program.

Again nice song,i'll be checking out your other songs

  • I gotz a question for you man what is that piano like thing that you have and it scratches i really want one but i do not know what it is called. Thanks Man =D!!

  • Thats the M-Audio Axiom. 25 key version. I have the 49 key and love the fuckin bajesus out of it.

they just came out with a fully weighted version (So it plays just like a Piano) i would recomend that,

and He does the scratching with a sample in Reason. just look for fake scratch in his vids, he explains how to set it up.

  • thanks daddytoms ill try to find these fucken things

  • is that debussy i hear?

  • Probably ! I totally dig the work of Debussy, Fauré, Ravel, Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky... I've sampled them alot.

  • Absolutly Great Track. Very nice.

  • Nice.

  • inspiring!!

  • how in the hell did you scratch in reason?

  • Search my youtube video entitled "Fake scratch using Reason and a MIDI keyboard"

  • What is that drum thing?

  • Roland Handsonic HPD-10, nice gear.

  • How mix videos ?

  • Tweaking compositing modes (screen, additive, dodge) in Sony Vegas.

  • Adobe Premiere / Adobe After Effects

  • wonderful act ;D

  • Was this being played in real time or is this a 'performance' following the track. Either way your arrangment is superb.

  • There is a lot of pre-sequenced elements (beats, bass, synth lines, etc). I've played realtime the more I could (synth pads, scratches, additional beat, voices, orchestra pad, various fx).

  • Dude that was sick!

  • Brill

  • do you have the devices mated in combinator programmer to control each different part? great setup for the keys & drum split... i've got a broke akai mpd 16 that i need to try & connect through midi since usb is dead... figured i could tell combinator to use it for redrum, route it somehow... nice enough scratch bit, found similar in a loopmasters tool refill

  • fffrrrrreeeessssshhhhhh!!!!!!!!

  • Very, very, very nice...

  • Hands down my fave instrumental I have heard on youtube. Great Job.

  • luke virbert much?

  • you're good man i hope that i can learn from you someday God Bless You Gillyman

  • Dope!

  • Ever listen to del tha funkee homosapien?

Your stuff reminds me alot of him.

    Good job.

  • That's excellent!

What does the Handsonic give you instead of, say, a MPD-32 - if you're only triggering redrum samples through MIDI?

  • A different touch feel, closer to hand percussion. Above that, you're right it's the same thing.

  • and it has a bunch of built in samples...

  • Yes, and a cool rhythm coatch training-mode. A nice electronic instrument for percussion lovers.

  • Will, can i jus say, as a fellow user of the axiom 25, you've definately inspired me! top job with these sounds! could you possibly recommend a drum machine with usb compatibility? cost is not too much of an issue to some extent, as i would like a decent model.. would be much appreciated...keep up the good work.

  • I don't know this kind of machines very much, but you seem to describe the Akai MPC 1000. Give it a try !

  • As a fellow Reason, Mac, Axiom 25 and HandSonic 10 user, you've inspired me too. Good shit.

ganjalistic: You can get a MIDI-to-USB cable for around $30 if you can't find a USB-compatible machine.

  • architecte instrumental

  • Hey i also use Reason and i recently bought M-Audio Axiom 25, but i dunno how to use the pads...

Can you tell me how to connect the pads to a sound in reason?

btw i found ur fake scratch pretty coolll~

  • See my tutorial at : william . lamy . free . fr / axiom (rebuild the url, youtube disables them automatically)

  • thanks for the guide !!!

  • That was awesome, dude!

  • I do ! There are photos on my website, myspace, facebook... Videos soon on Youtube.

  • Nice tune, i like ur style, kinda trip hop, i make trippy hip hop too, keep it up man!

  • yo Willbe this ones the best yet. very Good.

  • sei grande, w reason, w il mac, w te!

  • awesome!

  • what program you use to do you beats on.

i got an axiom but i tried to do the beat in fl studio, but i cant save the beat.like ill do a snare layer but i cant save it though so i can do a bass layer.get at me with the program.and also how you save each layer of the beat so you can keep stacking drums and other sounds to it.

  • incredible!

  • vry nice

  • great vibes man!

  • Did you create all the samples? If so what plugins did you use on reason to create them?

  • Synth sounds are made with Reason, some of them were sampled from Pro Tools "Xpand" plug-in. Acoustic sounds are taken from various CDs, tapes and radio, and performed with Reason's samplers. Voice was obtained with Mac OS X "Vicki".

  • you should get a turntable man

  • i think that

    a) he has one

    b) he doesn't need one

  • the man!!

  • so cool!! man

  • very nice man very nice.

  • nice beat and song.

but the scratching... as a DJ, all I can say it sounds pretty fake and messes the rest of the song.

    everything else, 5 stars.

    peace.

  • I didnt really care for the scratching, but everything else was top notch.5*s keep up the good work

  • for a fake thats not half bad, but u know as well as anybody, nothing can mimic the sound of real wax

  • such a sick video, sick music too. love seeing peoples setups

  • Hey did you make the visuals to beacuse they where so well put together. If so what program did you use?

  • Thanks ! I've used Photoshop, After Effects, Vegas and Bryce.

  • That Was amazing I've got the axiom 25 i'm using live and cubase at the moment I think i'm going to check out reason. Where you sampling all your beats live or where they pre recorded?

  • I only have two hands, I had to sequence a big part of it.

  • Great music!

may I ask you if you had problems to get reason recognized your axiom? I cant get reason 4.0 to recognized my axiom 49 on m macbook. Your help would be really appreciated!

  • Very god rhythm......

  • so how did you assign the different functions to the pads and the keynotes?

  • I've done it all in a combinator module in Reason. The combinator allows heavy and complex settings, try it.

  • whats up ur song is pretty good , u use reason 4 with axiom 25 and im having a problem with the knobs , reason doesnt recongnize them , and the rec and play botton either , help pleaseeeeeeeeee!

  • Yo sup bro i just bought the axiom 25 anything that you know that could help me on it i use it with reason 3.0

  • That is sick!! How did you get the scratching effect in the beginning? Is the pitch wheel controlling the pitch or did you set it to control some other parameter?

  • The pitch wheel controls the pitch (set to 24 semitones), and velocity controls the sample start offset. See my vid entitled "fake scratch using Reason and a MIDI keyboard".

  • came back for another listen.....i still think this is fresh....fresh!

  • man this was so damn west coast fresh....complete cruising music...yeah yay!
