Some are quite graphic, with commands to chop off heads and fingers and kill infidels wherever they may be hiding. Just as the Bible is a complex book to comprehend for all the depths of its meanings, so is the Koran. To read the Bible or the Koran strictly in terms of the concepts people hold today as to the meanings of words alone is to become greatly misled-- there are numerous examples of this, if you chose to look. Why is there bombing on a daily basis in many Muslim countries? Why is there Taqqiya which allows Muslims to lie to defend their "honor"? How they are treated by other people and how they are treated by law are two different things. Muslims in Westerns countries (including Israel) usually have the same benefits as anyone else. If they're disliked by their neighbours that's a whole other issue. Concerning Israel, except for the Right of Return for jews the law is pretty much the same for everyone as I understand it. Most countries try to prevent minorities from becoming majorities, Israel is upfront about it.
