Ooh, she's a big ol' beautiful girl.

So are most of your herp trips for pleasure or do you get called upon to remove snakes from human-occupied areas?

Ranchers hate snakes because their bites can cause illness to their livestock. And cows aren't known for looking where they step. Not to mention a snake in the barn when you're tossing hay is not a pleasant surprise. Cats are much nicer to have around for the pests.

I agree with you, a beautiful snake. And I also agree that it is a necessary and important species. However..... You are asking to get bit by handling these. Be careful!!!!
