@mouseodoom I'd agree on everything except for staging unless you mean specifically the part that relates to acting, then I'd agree. But there was no need to update the action, the libretto doesn't make sense in the Victorian era. I found the syringe both anachronistic and distracting (although not nearly as bad as the photographer in the sextette). It should've been staged where it is supposed to take place - in the late 17th century. But the performance is indeed amazing.
Great performance! Don't like the production -- why do they need to have some guy give her a shot (of what?). It's not in the story, it's anachronistic even with action transported to Victorian era (which results in a number of scenes not making sense). Why are the today's directors feelt hey must transpose the action somewhere? What is wrong with the original settings? Great singing and acting.
This is the best version of her Lucia mad scenes I've seen yet. I've watched these "mad scenes at the met" over and over and I always end up with tears in my eyes. Part of it is her acting, part her singing and part that I just like her so much. No I have never met her.
Thank you very much for posting the full scene in one clip. It's a beautiful performance.

This is truly beautiful, like the other posters, this brought me to tears. Her acting, her voice, the staging is all perfect.
