This came out when I was 18 y.o. so I could very much appreciate the electric charge inside it. On the other hand on Lp the music is somehow too "thin" and maybe it is time after all this years to make a good cover of it, shorter and with heavier drums. Refrain IS the song in this case, that is not an advantage for long term listening. I am pretty sure Toto could do something very good with this song as they did with their covers album "Through the Looking Glass".
Wow..never ever saw this video. as it ended almost expected to hear someone say "95-XIL" for that fantastically long playlisted station that I always heard it on back in the day. (Headed to look for Whats Your Hurry Darlin' next!)
i heard this a cold night early 1979, bought a terry cloth shirt at the mall and went out to my parents car while they were still shopping and was playing with the car radio and heard this.
years later people thought i was wrong when i said it was iron horse and sounded like BTO. they said it had to be iron maiden. well i was right all the time even in saying it sounded like bto
and i also was complimented on the terry cloth towel shirt at school.
greatsong.Frank ludwig the former keyboardist for trooper joined them for thier second album and the did the vocals on the hit whats your hurry darlin.geez my grandmother likes randy bachman and ironhorse
All I know is that Scotti Bros.records put out promo videos for ths song and "Jump Back In The Light" from the same Ironhorse album.(I had that one here as well, but it was removed.....)
......erano anni che non sentivo e vedevo il video di questa canzone.....mitica!!!!!avevo 17 anni....quanti bei ricordi....mi piaceva allora e mi piace ancor di più adesso!
Tom Sparks is MY dad! I never knew they made a video! I am so proud! Probably not one of Randy's better tunes, but it's definiately in my new top favs! Thanks to all the fans that listened to my dad!
@orthopolus77 I think my mom told me that Randy always got his song first on the album and Tom's were second. But I haven't ever heard the whole album. Can't seem to find it..... or if I did, no way to play it.
@z28original Actually Randy decided to leave BTO, because he wanted to do his own thing, his way. He called my dad to come play, because he thought he was a great musician.
I still have the LP, what i really remember during this time is that the recording was really nice, crisp, like digital compared to records that time, you could really feel the base and yes the drums and guitar is crazy.....
This is one of the best songs ive heard not like other people who thinks this is the worst he's done, R U "F" crazy?, i was 10-11 years old when i got the album from my dad who was at that time an English Speaking DJ in an FM radio in the Philippines, I got the album but didnt know who they were, first time i heard this song i couldnt stop thinking about it and i'm already 41 years old.
Great Tune! I was traveling in The Netherlands and Belgium when it was popular. It allways played in the car radio. At that time I didn't care about the lyrics and thought it was about a male Louis. Now I know better and the lyrics is great. I wonder how this tune had sounded with Bachman Turner Overdrive instead. The drums had probably been fatter.
This is the worse thing I've ever seen Randy put out. Doesn't live up to the name of the band. He should have rejoined the band back after his "Survivor" solo album in 1978. with the stutter sounds like he's trying to redo "You ain't seen nothin yet"...
this is a cut from one of the greatest albums of all time by any rock and roll group. I wish the original album was still in print. Heck I wish it were on video DVD! Believe me...if it were BUY IT WITHOUT HESITATION.
i heard this for the first time yesterday for many many years, thank heavens for youtube i say
