assault rifles are used by assault teams and basic infantry while smg's are generally favoured by special ops due to their higher accuracy and ease of use.

man.. kids shouldnt think all full auto guns are machine guns =P Assault Rifles are usually full auto / Semi. Machine guns are heavy chain fed with a high cap snipers Bolt action / semi auto

oh one more thing. not full auto and its not a machine gun. its an assault rifle. a machine gun is like the M249 this is the M4a1 but the stock is slightly.... ehhh 3 if i could give halves i'd give 2.5
