  • There are sections with Soprano1 and 2, just as there are sections for alots 1 and 2, that does not mean that you have twice as many sopranos or altos.

  • Super. 6x4 = 24 That is what Bach intended 24 singers.

  • I doubt it, since this is a motet for five voices.

  • As always you can have altos1 and altos2 - just like tenor1 and tenor2. It is not for five voices but for 4 and organs/ or chello.

  • Not sure what you mean - but that's just me (not being a specialist). I'm rehearsing this at the very moment, and my score (published by Breitkopf) says 'für fünfstimmigen gemischten Chorus' (SSATB).
