The Dpad on the 3DS is too low for my big hands. lol If anything, Nintendo should add the second slide pad so that it doesn't affect the position of the buttons on the right or doesn't make it harder to use. Maybe under the buttons like an xbox controller or just widen it and add it like how the slide pad would be. If they did add the slide pad, in the slim, would they need the extra shoulder button too? I also predict Gamecube games in eshop in the near future after the slide pad releases.
plants vs zombies is already on the eshop and rayman origins is coming to the 3ds soon too. there are a couple of games that look pretty good on vita but no killer app yet. gravity daze looks meh to me.

The new kingdom hearts isn't a spinoff since its a direct sequel to KH2 and the ONLY bridge for KH3 given the mark of mastery for sora and riku. Aside from that, MSG, Kid Icarus, [MML3 :'( ] I will probably pick up. FF10 on vita+trophies? First day fucking buy imo. Nintendo was grabbing a HUGE market share in the gaming hardware industry and was making so much money out of it. Once motion-controls were deemed as 'safe', was when the Kinect was released, when the PS Move was released; look at their release dates, again evidence. Motion-Controls and exclusives made the Wii sell.

as a 3DS user, im very content with the system. the eShop is great (and demos will be out soon for it), the online in general (like u said) is awesome- u can join other players games and now theres swapnote which is fun, but they have to some how combined all that stuff and make it so we dont have to cancel our game to go to swap note
also the games r great. nintendo is definitely going in the right direction with the 3DS Vita got destroyed the 3rd week (72,000 units) though, PSP even beat it
I have the 3ds but I think its a little underwhelming due to the crappy launch titles and not enough original IPs its always Mario this, Zelda that and the 3d is kinda pointless for a handheld. But in reality the PS Vita will do just the same in terms of sales but I gotta feeling that the PS Vita and 3DS will more likely be the tast true handheld consoles for a long time.
Seeing how long the DS and PSP lasted on such out-dated hardware, yea I agree, the Vita and 3DS will be lasting for an even longer time.
But there's other offerings on the 3DS than just Mario and Zelda. There's lots of great 3rd-party games for it like Dead or Alive, Resident Evil Revelations, Kingdom Hearts, and Tales of the Abyss. The last 3 come out in Q1 2012 though, but they're right around the corner pretty much. Kid Icarus Uprising might as well be a new IP.

The PSVita is having a slow start out of the gate which the 3DS previously experienced (Taken from the sales in Japan). What Sony needs to do is take down the price. Because 250 (For Wi-Fi only) and 350 (Wi-Fi and 3G) price points (Probably more in other countries) is a little too steep in everyone's pockets. If they do that, it will sell much more than it's price that it got for it now. By the way, I want to purchase both the 3DS and the PSVita though.

I bought a zelda 3ds. Its sweet only paid 125 for it. If the PSP had no support for it why would the vita? The vita will be a decent handheld no doubt. However its way to expensive. I can buy a ps3 for the price I will pay for a vita and get more features out of it.

So the demographic of the Wii and mario is the larger target audience its not hard to do the math. Here are the real facts Sony shipped 500,000 to 700,000 systems at launch. To cover the preorders and walk in buys for the Vita in Japan. The system to date has only sold 397,338. Why is this important. First the 3DS sold more in one week than the Vita did in two. The 3DS launch which was after the earthquake sold more systems. Compared to the Vita which was on sell during Christmas. The time of year where console, and game sells go up. The 3DS launch lineup sold better.
@jodecideion If the 3DS was label doomed then the Vita should be considered D.O.A. The 70,000 systems sold during the week of Christmas is pathetic. In the region where they buy more handhelds than home consoles. The 3DS is already half the entire lifespan of PS3 YTD sold consoles. The Vita may do better in the west due to it's western lineup. Still in Japan it's going to do extremely bad until they change things. The problem is Sony can't just cut the price like Nintendo.

PSV went from 375,000 sales the week of it's launch to 72,000, and that honestly has never happened before. Nintendo already spent their money on the 3ds, they just need to wait for the profit to come in. It's not like they're constantly sinking money into it. People who are into console wars for whatever reason really don't know how the business works.
I think both the 3DS and PSvita will both be successful but in about two or three years from now both companies will seriously rethink the handheld market. I predict Nintendo will make a smart phone by the end of this decade.

The new kingdom hearts isn't a spinoff since its a direct sequel to KH2 and the ONLY bridge for KH3 given the mark of mastery for sora and riku. Aside from that, MSG, Kid Icarus, [MML3 :'( ] I will probably pick up. FF10 on vita+trophies? First day fucking buy imo. Nintendo was grabbing a HUGE market share in the gaming hardware industry and was making so much money out of it. Once motion-controls were deemed as 'safe', was when the Kinect was released, when the PS Move was released; look at their release dates, again evidence. Motion-Controls and exclusives made the Wii sell.

as a 3DS user, im very content with the system. the eShop is great (and demos will be out soon for it), the online in general (like u said) is awesome- u can join other players games and now theres swapnote which is fun, but they have to some how combined all that stuff and make it so we dont have to cancel our game to go to swap note
also the games r great. nintendo is definitely going in the right direction with the 3DS Vita got destroyed the 3rd week (72,000 units) though, PSP even beat it

I have the 3ds but I think its a little underwhelming due to the crappy launch titles and not enough original IPs its always Mario this, Zelda that and the 3d is kinda pointless for a handheld. But in reality the PS Vita will do just the same in terms of sales but I gotta feeling that the PS Vita and 3DS will more likely be the tast true handheld consoles for a long time.

Seeing how long the DS and PSP lasted on such out-dated hardware, yea I agree, the Vita and 3DS will be lasting for an even longer time.
But there's other offerings on the 3DS than just Mario and Zelda. There's lots of great 3rd-party games for it like Dead or Alive, Resident Evil Revelations, Kingdom Hearts, and Tales of the Abyss. The last 3 come out in Q1 2012 though, but they're right around the corner pretty much. Kid Icarus Uprising might as well be a new IP.

The PSVita is having a slow start out of the gate which the 3DS previously experienced (Taken from the sales in Japan). What Sony needs to do is take down the price. Because 250 (For Wi-Fi only) and 350 (Wi-Fi and 3G) price points (Probably more in other countries) is a little too steep in everyone's pockets. If they do that, it will sell much more than it's price that it got for it now. By the way, I want to purchase both the 3DS and the PSVita though.

I bought a zelda 3ds. Its sweet only paid 125 for it. If the PSP had no support for it why would the vita? I mean they say the system is only 250 OMG....then quietly you have to pay a arm and a leg for the memory cards that YOU HAVE TO HAVE TO EVEN START A GAME. @sonicnator You need to do your research. 54 % of games sold in gaming are E and E+10 ratings. the other 46% makes up teens and mature. Most games on the Wii are rated E as stated before. So the demographic of the Wii and mario is the larger target audience its not hard to do the math. Mario as a complete game in terms of story character development plot twist act the list goes on and on is far short of higher quality and still fun games like metal gear final fantasy franchises ect

Here are the real facts Sony shipped 500,000 to 700,000 systems at launch. To cover the preorders and walk in buys for the Vita in Japan. The system to date has only sold 397,338. Why is this important. First the 3DS sold more in one week than the Vita did in two. The 3DS launch which was after the earthquake sold more systems. Compared to the Vita which was on sell during Christmas. The time of year where console, and game sells go up. The 3DS launch lineup sold better.

@jodecideion If the 3DS was label doomed then the Vita should be considered D.O.A. The 70,000 systems sold during the week of Christmas is pathetic. In the region where they buy more handhelds than home consoles. The 3DS is already half the entire lifespan of PS3 YTD sold consoles. The Vita may do better in the west due to it's western lineup. Still in Japan it's going to do extremely bad until they change things. The problem is Sony can't just cut the price like Nintendo.

@hoopblaze Sales matter because the system with the sales gets the support. The system that sells the games is the lead platform when a company makes another game. Why do you think the PS3 had shitty third party support when it launched and good support now? It sells games now. If the PSV doesn't sell, companies won't make games for it.
Sales are everything.

I want the vita to do well, i really do. But facts are facts it was holiday season and vita was new. Vita sold about 72,000 to 3DS' 480,000 last week.

@Thirdplace4life actually he used japan sales vs japan sales. google vita-sales-drop-sharply-in-japan. PSV went from 375,000 sales the week of it's launch to 72,000, and that honestly has never happened before. I know why this probably happened and that's because A) Battery life and B) Having to buy an extra memory card. Most people in japan are 3ds crazy right now lol.
