It's weird how people manage to get together and act as if they all love each other. The day after Christmas is when everything goes back to normal and everyone is the same as they were a few days before Christmas Eve. To clear up the confusion from somebody who was there.:This was indeed by Porn Orchard, NOT Opal Foxx. Ted wrote the lyrics and sang the Peter Murphy part. Curtiss played guitar and sang the Tom Waits part. I played all the keyboard parts and the drum. Ted described the feel and I made up the chord progression, with Ted's help, as I went along.

Hi. I'm one of those ignorant guys responsible for the erroneous name here.

Here's the story: back in college, my friend and I put our money together to buy the first CD burner around. We worked at the school radio station, and in those pre-Napster days that meant access to more music than anyone. That year, we put together a holiday compilation called "Boy, Get That Stocking Out of Your Mouth!" for a few friends. We never meant it for more than 20 people, but some of them must've passed it on.

...anyhow, this track came off a CD labeled something like "[xx] Holiday Sampler" we found in the archive. There was no case and we had no way to find out the proper title or artist, so we just called it Christmas Sucks. It wasn't until sometime later that we found out it was Porn Orchard.

There was also a funny intro that we had to cut in order to fit it on the CD. It's an obvious spoof of the Bowie/Crosby intro to "Little Drummer Boy."

it's taken from a compilation put out every year by the University of Georgia's student newspaper, "The Flagpole"... they put out a comp. every year called "It's a Flagpole Christmas". Porn Orchard were an Athens, GA area band in the mid-late 80's... the introduction is missing, which is even more hilarious... too bad.
