I got my teeth pulled about 6 months ago. I dont really get why you need to get high on gas for that? Got some anesthetic around the tooth, and then pulled it out. This seems so much more complicated.

I had 3 wisdom teeth removed and only got local anesthesia! I drove myself to the place, drove myself to the pharmacy then went home -- I lived alone. I had yogurt as the food. Next day I woke up, brushed my teeth and fainted. I don't remember feeling any pain, aside from the big scratch I had in my back from the fall!

@Rosebunse lol i just had my 2 wisdom teeth removed 6 hours ago and its hurting pretty bad right now, still bleeding. my dentist injected anesthetics around the removal area first, it hurted a little, but nothing serious, for the whole time I can feel his hand in my mouth, but it doesn't hurt a bit when my actual teeth were taken out, after 3 hours, the anesthetic wore off and you start to feel pain. .

Seriously wisdom teeth removal isn't that bad. I went to the dentist to get a cavity filled and the guy ended up pulling all four withing 4 minutes and all I got was a numbing shot. The worse thing about the whole thing was the asshole dentist told me afterwards that I couldn't smoke or eat solid foods.

@evanescence1fan2 Well, he packed my lower sockets with gauze to stop the bleeding. It helped a lot and because of that it didn't really hurt. He pulled the stuff out yesterday and it stung when he removed it but afterwards it was fine. Have to clean the sockets now 3 times a day but other than that everything is fine. Oh and in my case the nerve was bruised so for the next few months my lower lip is going to be slightly numb. That isn't to say it's going to happen to you but...just saying.

@GovVision I honestly doubt it, they probably have something to keep your mouth open, when I had my teeth pulled out they just put injections in my mouth to numb it, but that was all. But that was for when I had braces. I still have my wisdom teeth, they haven't given me any problems :)

you don't have to be put under. the hardest part of having your wisdom teeth out is the novocaine injection so that you're locally numbed.

i just had it done today and it took 30 minutes for 2 fully-erupted teeth and 2 partically-impacted teeth.

during local anesthesia you feel slight pressure ... but seriously, the most painful part is immediately before the procedure where the needle-like incision of novocaine is felt ... and of course, after the extraction :(
