hey guys dont get ur hopes up crysis 2 will be fun but just aliens mainly from start to finish dead space 2 has been announced best horror game already and it just came out it will be game of the year soon to
@dark1sage You buying an entirely new computer contradicts you having "alot more computer knowledge" because if you did, you would be wise enough to buy a new graphics card, and not a new computer.
You especially lack computer knowledge because in no part did you say that your graphics card can run crysis, and that I was trolling you. GOOD DAY SIR.
@shermankim777 Vsync = Vertical synchronization, reducing screen tear. (If you haven't experienced it it's hard to explain. Volumetric effects are things like the god-rays, that light actually is something (Fog and smoke interacts with it, creating dynamic reduction of the light, and things in e.g the mist will cast a shadow behind it inside the mist aswell, not just on the items behind.) Post processing is effects like motion blur.
I have a hard drive obviously, Just forgot to mention it, plus it's ancient, it's 250 gig, could be something like £20 - £40, maybe less because of its age, plus this exact rig is pretty new, i've been using it for little under a year.
im getting a somewhat better setup but i don't know the exact specs but lets just say its the same price but with and ati radion 4890 and an hd monitor oh and its got a quad core and 8 gb of ram its somewhat similar but doubles the ram and processing power
Yes, at 1920x1200, maxed out, aa x4 and all with one too. But thats a bit overboard, you can either run crysis at 1920x1200 with one gtx 295 or get 3 gtx 285 in sli [faster] 40 fps av at 2560x1600. Q9650 will do the job too. Monitor that goes to 2560x1600? get 3 way sli gtx 285! small monitor that only goes to 1280x1024? gtx 275.
what and find that they just wasted 20-30 quid on a new game that they can't even run?
smooth move, genius
and as for johnnymacfartland, just because a computer is better than yours doesn't mean it MUST have cost 2000e. I'm playing crysis on ultra high with FPS of about 30-35 on a PC that cost just under about £500 (converts to about 650 euros or $900)
I didn't realize Crysis wars had a free trial period and full content, as for the demo, i find it hard to trust the performance of demo's most of the time, a bit like the Armed assault demo, that demo meant nothing, ya know?
I custom built my PC, you probably bought it from a store pre-made... everybody who knows anything about getting a rig for high end PC gaming knows that the golden rule is, Don't buy 'em pre-made... they'll rip you off... fucking big time. Buy the parts, put them together. much less expensive.
Dude, i play this on a machine that I bought for 600 dollars, and it runs totally smooth on ultra high on 1280x1024, my monitors highest res. Think first than post.
well, i saw one set up in a shop, dunno if it was better than yours, but it could play crysis with 4x AA with smooth frame rates - check out the crysis site and look at recommended specs - i think you exceed them greatly....
these guys are way over pricing it. this game can be run on a 9800gt on full settings with a couple of performance mods and you can get that card for about 80-100 pounds ish. if you want a card that you know will perform well without any mods then go for the gts 250 which will cost you just over 100 pounds!
what r u talkin about?? that graphics card and ram could run it on high depending on what his other specs are........ if he had a quad core 2.2 GHz CPU (or higher) or even a 3.1GHz duo-core(depending on the type of duo-core it is), he could easily do crysis on very high..... I run crysis on ultra high (XP detail mod) with an MSI N9600GT, 2.7GHz dual-core Athlon (OC'ed to 3.5GHz), 4gigs G.Skill 800MHz ram, 500GB HDD, and random other crap
Um. ok, ULTRA HIGH is a mod for windows xp users to get very high graphics WITHOUT DX 10, u have VERY HIGH settings if your using vista read the game settings before u say u use ultra high..... and btw u must really suck at pcs because my friend has a 2.2 quad-core, 8 gigs of 800mhz ram, XFX 9800GTX+ not OC'd at all, and he runs crysis on very high.............

hmmm, maybe its the ram... cuz thats the res my friend runs his on. also, i could be getting really good frame rates because im using ultra high. i heard that ultra high is easier on computers than very high is

The EXACT settings I can run it at with 25-40 FPS
4x Antialiasing
Resolution: 1360x768 (Set resolution to the 36" TV I play on)
EVERYTHING in the advanced options as high as possible WITH the DX10 hack too.
Hope that clears some stuff up.

Just wanna prove that you can run this game well with a small amount of money using my rig as an example. (Hardware only)
E8400 3.0Ghz Processor: £140
Nvidia 896mb 260 GTX: £200
4gb Kingston RAM (800mhz): £40
ASRock 4Core1600 GLAN motherboard: £40
Really cheap case: £20
Standard Microsoft keyboard & laser mouse : £40
Average 650 Watt power supplyI: £80
Total: £560
So anyway, there ya go people, a cheap and easy solution to run Crysis at all highest settings DX9 with DX10 hack. Enjoy.

dude their is a difference between
veryhigh no AA on +720p resolution
(an 9800gt for 100€ is enough for that(and that will already look god))
and 2560*1600 veryhigh with 16*AA which will need 2*hd4870x2 in quad cf (for about 800€)

It's not ultra high unless you're on Vista, hence the DX10.
Even if you were on vista, i KNOW you couldn't do it with acceptable frame rates.
I have a Q6600 (OC'd to 3.6ghz), 9800GTX (Extremely overclocked), and 4 gigs of OCZ titanium DDR2 10666.
I can barely run it on very high.
I would know.
