I totally think that after the witchfinder accuses merlin, Gaius takes the blame. Why else would Merlin be dragged out by Arthur and not guards? And it seemed like Gaius was in a cell when the finder threw water on him. Also, there was another preview where Merlin said he wouldn't sacrifice Gaius for him and the Dragon said Gaius was already doomed. So excited!
