That looks like a pretty good costume which means it costed him quite a bundle of cash. I doubt he would cut a hole in them just to play inside the suit. But then again, I have been wrong many times. I know I would never cut a hole in mine. I watched the video again, and I think you misplaced "thumbs" with "pawpads".

My guess.... The humen fingers aren't actually in the "fingers" of the glove. It's rather difficult to play the piano with straight or encumbered fingers.

I mean, you can TRY playing with straight fingers, but it's more difficult, you can't do anything even approaching waht you can do with curved fingers. That, and your childhood piano teacher starts turning in her grave.
