One positive to come out of this is another great song from you. EdMuirton is spot on about the pubs over here. If it wasn't for the pub rock scene in Melbourne in the 70's & 80's I wouldn't have been able to make a career out of music. The death knell came in the 90's when they allowed pokies into the pubs. Yes that is EXACTLY what they want us to do. I'm not a pub going person so can only sympathise rather than empathise with Mikee on the pub issue, but my employer is busy drawing up new contracts and working out a rule book to penalise dissenters, with the intention of getting us in more days of the week, including weekends, for standard pay, and dictating when we take holidays which will be used up more quickly. And this is all to serve the Great British Consumer, what we all live for obviously!

When they gather us in to a briefing to tell us what has to change to compete with overseas competition, non of us actually know how the competition are running their factories. My feeling is telling us that days we are not required for work are holidays, and counting weekends among them as well (as I'm told is the case by people who've seen sample rotas) is bordering on illegal! I came into the world in the black and white era too. Beatles 'Hard Days Night' and that kind of thing. Similarly that's what was so great about the 'Life On Mars' TV series. I'm not sure you would have watched it, get the impression it might not have been your thing, but the writers and actors portrayed, in the finale, the bad old politically incorrect, style by-passed 70s as preferable to the bland, politically correct 00s and most people I know who watched it agree.

Ah, but Mikee, you have your music. And YT is a form of TV, but not in the traditional sense. Actually in the 70s I had an English teacher who was a bit 'out there' but extremely popular, and he admitted to not owning a 'television machine' which to a bunch of 14 year olds seemed totally unthinkable. However as an adult I wouldn't blame anyone for avoiding any form of technology or media that they wish - I don't buy newspapers, & I mostly only watch 60s and 70s TV shows now I've got digital!
