I think this song is more about the indulgences the church use to sell that were meant to cleanse you of your sins. Bones of saints, papers, and supposedly holy artifacts(most of them were fakes) were all sold to the common people with promises that it would lead them to heaven.
@777ProdigalSon777 This is about how religions sell their 'truth'. Look at these lyrics and then listen to the end of the song: "If you look hard you'll see me in the sky, reaching out with loving hands, showing you the light that now is for sale."
Well, whatever the last line is, the point's the exact same.
My father and stepmother go to a church in town that is more of a three ring circus with a sermon tacked on. The preacher does the shlick he does merely to get people in and that it's mainly to get people in the building.
Despite this song being about hating on Religion, Falconer is a very religious band. Their songs such as Entering Eternity, Substitutional World, and especially Portals of light.
@RiceXIII i dont realy see Enter The Glade as a song about hating on religion i would more likely see it as they tell through the song how that religion is now these days. simply trying to sell itself most of the time
Considering that candles were a commodity in old times, why would anyone leave five of them lit during broad daylight... in a vacant room? Is that kind of waste the medieval equivalent of a new Lotus parked in the driveway or something?
That may be true, but it's a piece of artwork. And those don't really have to make sense. lol.
If the artist already knew that, then they probably did it for composition. If they didn't, well, they didn't. No big deal. Oh, and if you weren't at all being serious...my bad. The way it was worded just kinda sounded negative. ^^;
The Man sent by God is Jesus. Wonderful.

Gotta love a band that puts the issue to plainly in such beautiful music

This song sorta reminds me of Holy Smoke by Iron Maiden. but not as blunt about it's topic.
